IBM Cloud Developer Tools

It's hard to believe that a huge company as IBM would provide a service that's only reliable for non mission critical applications, but that's the truth. IBM has shown no idea on how to hold and manage it's Cloud Foundry version. Result of this, when it fails, it fails terribly, more than 6 hours of downtime due to IBM Cloud problems, more than 1 complete day failing to update our applications due to Continuous Delivery problems, and support didn't know when the problem was solved or what the cause was.I would only recommend IBM Cloud Continuous Delivery for non mission critical applications or simple proof of concepts. Continuous delivery doesn't seem to be IBM's strength, but only a must have because all "the big ones" have it.

IBM Rational RequisitePro

If you are familiar with IBM Rational Suite products, RequisitePro will add up due to the synergy between other components. Beyond that, if your business is not structured to an adequate development methodology or lacks the degree of maturity or necessary resources, probably RequisitePro does not add much value. If you work with developers in the requirements analysis, they probably prefer to use an SVN repository.

It's a great platform to develop, run, test and deploy the applications easily. And it makes very easier and secure the implementation of continuous delivery process. For first time and experts also can use this service so easily. Great service provided by the IBM Cloud Continuous Service. There are more services that helps a lot to work on it. Thanks a lot.

Learning Curve is there, plus there performance can be an issue. It is best to understand where the server is located in relation to the team. Creation of new documents and mapping the requirements into ReqPro from Office can be a challenge to learn. Best to get help to do the initial document setup

Please keep in mind that this all has to do with you you customize the user interface. It becomes very easy to house all of your requirements, but it may and can make life difficult for you if you do not think ahead of how you want the app to work and house your data

In more than a year using the IBM Cloud Continuous Delivery tool, I haven't had any major complaints or problems. However, in the last month, IBM suffered from a couple of problems through several of its services, and for a short period of time, I couldn't deploy successfully my projects. The problem was brief and was quickly fixed.

IBM has good support and knowledge base. With the wealth of information on their site and the support desk, we were able to quickly resolve issues. It is smart to build up a COE and a group that manages the software otherwise it is quick to be able to lose the knowledge as team members are assigned different duties

Alternatives Considered

IBM Cloud Developer Tools

It's the best tool for deploying an application in a short amount of time. I've always used IBM Cloud Developer Tools from creation to running and testing it to deploying it. It saves a lot of time for me and provides a very good user experience.

IBM Doors could be better at document management for a higher price. If you need more complex traceabilily, Doors is the way to go. If you need less, free and simple management, a common SVN is ok for you.
