Sage
Sage Intacct is well suited for most accounting needs, specifically journal entries, accounts payable/receivable processes and cash management. Intacct is also useful for budget planning and integration with financial actuals, as well as report writing to coincide with financial reporting processes on monthly, quarterly and annual basis. I'm not sure that Intacct has the capability to fully house a financial reporting process, but it is a great tool.

A 1-10 employee company with no accounting system integration needs and no customization may be suited for Invoiced. Although I wish I could, I cannot in good faith recommend any other scenario for which Invoiced is the right solution. Perhaps a subscription service that is very streamlined on autopay could work as well, but I cannot speak to that scenario directly. I do not think Invoiced can be trusted to integrate with accounting software, certainly not NetSuite, given the aforementioned reasons. There is a very high risk of system failures, connection breaks, improper code built into the core bundles, and they will blame the company for anything that is not totally standard operations. In summary, if your business does anything unique at all from a transaction lens, I would be very careful as Invoiced may promise to handle it in a Sales pitch, and then 9 months later it could still be unsolved. All the while, they are charging you even if the product is not launched, and they also will not let you terminate, because Invoiced will deny a "breach" even in the face of a directly observable example just to ride out the contract and keep all the money.

Cons

  • Communication is the #1 failure - the Invoiced contract Term starts PRE-launch on day 1, yet Invoiced had an extremely slow and encumbered way of onboarding and trying to set us up.
  • Core Product: In our testing, their core product broke numerous times, and if this were in a live scenario we would have been devastated. Be very careful as they don't take ownership for maintaining their integrations with all software, and things can break at any moment with updates
  • Systems: Invoiced rolled out updates that contained faulty code and damaged our accounting system. The lack of expertise, at least in NetSuite, is very dangerous and I recommend having in-house develops watch Invoiced's moves very carefully if you do end up trying to use them.
  • Lack of Ownership: We tried to terminate multiple times, only be to requested over and over that they can fix the problems. We gave them more time since we were so heavily invested from a time perspective, but they did not own the failures and we were even lied to directly by senior management in a remarkable failure to adhere to basic deadlines.

Usability
Sage
The ease of use as a seasoned user is wonderful; however, new users struggle to adapt to the program efficiently. Better training videos--all in one location--would be beneficial. The use of a "sandbox" environment is a great tool for new employees or for the fiscal department to test certain journal entries or other transactions to verify accuracy of data.

There has only been one occurrence where Sage Intacct was not available to me, however I had already been working a number of hours trying to get a project completed. It honestly allowed me to step back and take a much needed break.

Performance
Sage
As fas as integration is concerned I don't feel this slows Sage Intacct down at all. However, sometimes I do feel it takes some larger reports more time to load due to all the detail. As well as, I "move very fast" in my motions so sometimes I double click on fuctions too quickly and the system seems to think that I have a duplicate request.

Only a few times have we had to reach out to support, and every time we did, we received a relatively quick response and a solution was found fairly quickly. Only once was there an issue that took longer than a week to resolve, but it still did eventually get solved.

In-Person Training

I have taken in person training classes at several of the annual Sage Intacct user conferences. It is very interactive and the trainers are very easy to follow and understand. They are great at getting everyone in the class involved. They also make sure everyone has learned to task before moving to a new one.

Online Training

The free training is very minimal. For what we pay for the service, I would like more training. We end up training new users in-house because the provided free training is not nearly comprehensive enough. That being said, the training provided, for the material covered, was adequate and relevant for the given topics.

I would not use a thrid party administrator to implement your system, especially if you are going to be modifying the system at all. Use Intacct implementors as they will be able to better support you on any issues that come up after you go live.

Sage intacct is known for its robust financial management capabilities. It offers features like general ledger, accounts payable and recievable, project accounting, expense management and more. It is suitable for small top mid sized businesses and larger enterprises. Sage intacct is highlyscalable and can accommodate the needs of growing businesses.

We selected Invoiced primarily due to their purported high level of customizations and flexibility to handle differing business needs. That, unfortunately, became the exact reason we terminated the contract though. They have a basic framework for something that could be really great, and the potential is there, but they lack the in-house expertise and the product is far too infantile at present. Major bugs and similar issues need to be stamped out first. I can only hope they take it as a learning experience.
