KalioCommerce is a good choice for mid market companies. IT support required would depend on your particular implementation, of course, but in our case our ecommerce team working with Kalio is able to deal with 95% of the work

Salesforce as a CRM is fast, reliable, and the best cloud-native solution. Its integration tools are the best, and they constantly keep on upgrading themselves as per market needs. For both small and large-scale businesses, salesforce is a one-platform solution for customer relationship management. 1. Variety of integration - Salesforce offers and range of integration to support all your business needs 2. Ease of use - Salesforce features are easy to use, and we can learn them on the job 3. Service - Customer service is impeccable, and their response time is low.

    • Traffic - When we have sales, our traffic will increase exponentially and their cloud can handle the huge uptick in traffic we receive without overloading our servers.
    • Site updates - it continually monitors in the background for any upgrades or updates needed so we don't have to go in and do it ourselves. A real time saver!
    • Integration - outside plugins and add-ons are easy to install with Salesforce commerce cloud as it allows a seamless integration of extra plug ins onto our site.

    Cons

    KalioCommerce

    • Because Kalio has a growing client base, I find them a bit understaffed. The speed at which our company was growing, we needed to lean on them more, but they weren't always able to deliver because of the sheer volume of requests compared to their staff.
    • It's difficult to physically write code within the space they have provided. I find that I have to copy and paste the code into a different text editor to read it better.

    • The SFCC CMS (business manager) needs a UX review. They are addressing this but there are inconsistencies in the layout, UI features, and intuitiveness. An example would be having to de-select features rather than selecting, meaning campaigns can go-live and affect other areas of the site because a feature hasn’t been selected. Standard UI protocol suggests you should select rather than have to deselect. Another example is around where features are located. You often find yourself going through options trying to find what you need.
    • Since the acquisition of Demandware by Salesforce, I feel the ability to integrate the various clouds could have been improved and sped up
    • SF should seek more user feedback. IBM was particularly good at this.

        Salesforce

A huge factor influencing our decision to remain on the Demandware platform is that our new parent company is standardizing all its luxury brands in the US on it. We are fortunate. However, even if we had remained an independent company, I believe we would continue on the Demandware platform for all the reasons outlined in this review. I appreciate the stability the platform has provided to our eCommerce site in the last three years as well as the continuous improvements and technological advances being rolled out that will allow us to keep the site fresh, engaging, modern and stable. I've heard many horror stories from colleagues on other platforms who struggle with the expense and complexity involved with making what should be minor and simple changes and updates to their sites.

They are very responsive and a support technician will be assigned quickly. Even if there is further clarification needed for the ticket, or a solution is not immediately available, you feel that someone is there and staying on top of the issue. Most common issues are resolved quickly and satisfactorily.

        Alternatives Considered

        KalioCommerce

Having used Magento and Joomla in the past to manage websites, the KalioCommerce platform allows access to much deeper levels of the platform to better customize it for our needs. In addition, the platform is much more robust, able to handle complex, huge product catalogs, and is more flexible in terms of integration with other tools and services.

When I think of Salesforce products, I sometimes think of them interchangeably as one big lump. It's hard not to be incredibly immersed in the ecosystem day in and day out and taking advantage of resources like Trailhead. While Microsoft Dynamics compares in quality and offerings, it doesn't offer the same engagement and resources as Salesforce in its communications, social, and marketing, which makes a difference in terms of relevance and help. Commerce Cloud comes with the support you need to succeed and the tools you need to grow. In a high demand consumer world, we need products like this to keep up and get ahead. The minute we catch up, we're behind. Salesforce helps you stay on pace and create the unique and personalized experiences customers everywhere expect.

        • Despite it's shortcomings in UX and occasional arbitrary limitations, Demandware is still a pretty efficient CMS. It has expanded many of the capabilities and options for our marketing organization, which has led to speedier and more effective deployment.
        • For a platform of its size, Demandware experiences far more performance issues, including downtime, than I would have expected. In those scenarios, support has been spotty and transparency on the Demandware side has been consistently lacking.
        • There seem to a significant number of problems integrating Demandware into legacy systems. We're still experiencing issues that were probably introduced during our implementation. We've had some success with Demandware, but it's certainly been held back by many of the problems I've called out.
