Nconnect vs. Socialtext (discontinued) vs. Sparkbay

OnSemble is solving a lot of problems that our organization had prior to its implementation:

• We can track communication readership.
• We can engage with our fellow teammates through chats and recognition.
• We have a central location for all job-related links.
• We are just now delving into adding departmental pages so folks can communicate within their teams.

I'm not sure of a scenario where OnSemble wouldn't be appropriate - if you have a company that needs to centralize communication, documentation, and share ideas, it's an excellent choice.

We use Social Text as a platform to air our issues with different departments. We voice our concerns and suggestions so we can help find a solution to the problems we incur on a daily basis. We need to have social text as an app so we can communicate in real time not only during work hours.

Sparkbay is perfect to keep an eye on the company's engagement level and collect employee general feedback. However it does not replace good one-on-ones.

• Version history - Always keeps the edited versions and one can revert back any time
• Creating and Editing an article is very easy and intutive
• Sharing the articles with peers

• The software is very easy to work with. We're able to visualize our engagement data in versatile reports, getting key insights for the whole company.
• The team reports save time in knowing right off the bat how your team is feeling without having to wait for the next one-on-one.
• The customer support team is very responsive and we always get answers to our questions.

• Permissions - granting permissions at different levels for users is tedious - would like to see permissions simplified.

• Search needs a ton of improvements. It was very slow a year ago
• Search result quality was also not that good
• I know they have improved their UI recently but when i used it last year it did not really have any design elements which could be used to make the articles look more presentable. It was important for us as we used it for external communication as well.

• They provided a training session only to managers. I think they should've invited employees too on a voluntary basis.

We have a lot of info in Socialtext already. It would be hard to get all that info out and port it to a different system

As a user: it's pretty intuitive and the only thing holding a user back from getting everything out of it is a lack of curiosity. As an admin: it's not super intuitive. The training and the setup process are crucial to be able to use and maintain the portal, and we still sometimes have questions.

I have always been pleased with my experiences with OnSemble's Support team. First, they have a great library of articles to help me study and guide for many of my questions. But when I cannot quite comprehend, or I "run into the wall", I can be assured that I'll be contacted quickly with a pleasant voice to work through whatever my question/issue may be. Kudos to OnSemble Support!

I frankly like Confluence better than socialtext because of the speed and the quality of search. They also have better design elements which can help make the articles pleasant to the eyes.
