nDash vs. Social Mention

If you're a veteran/professional writer looking for clients who appreciate good human writing, nDash is a great platform to generate additional work. And if your business needs talented writers who are well-versed in a variety of industries, audiences, and content types, nDash likely has someone who can help. If you're just starting your freelance writing career or your business is looking for writing quantity over quality, another platform (read: content mill or AI) may be a better fit for your needs. But if you create (or value) compelling content, I highly recommend nDash!

Social Mention is a great tool for monitoring social media. This Tool can also be used to search specifically taking the keywords in the blogs, comments, news etc. It offers a third party API for users. It can be used to send email to clients of their brand performance data. This tool can indicate if your mentions are angry, happy or neutral but the data can't be reliable.

• Makes it easy to find writing clients in your niche and price range
• The interface is easy to navigate and operate
• Takes care of invoicing and payment processing for you after project completion
• Provides an intuitive opportunity pipeline to track proposals and pending projects

• Can predict future response from today's number.
• Let's you judge which types of campaigns to run.
• Has a very well managed dashboard of results.

• I have been working with nDash for several years and I have never had an issue with the platform.

• Under the "Free" dashboard you are limited to only receiving weekly results.
• Can't negate those tags which contain my tags.
• Lots of tweets missing, no noise filtering. Sometimes we get very old contents which are not needed.

I love that Social Mention is so easy to use. It does not take a long time to learn how to navigate the site when you need information quickly. I don't use it as much in my new job, but I recommend it for basic monitoring and when you need social media information right away

It's easy to navigate and find anything you need as a writer.

While it's easy to use and pay for it's totally useless.

It doesn't work as well since we changed our name. We used to have a very unique twitter handle etc. so it was easier for social mention to find us. For folks who have unique names it's excellent if you don't it may not be that helpful.

I've explored and created profiles on several different content agencies/content sites and have found them to be lacking -- so many are a race to the bottom with writers of wildly varying skill and experience levels "competing" against veteran writing professionals. nDash is different; its clients are serious companies that value (and are willing to pay for) high-quality content. Additionally, I've observed that nDash tends to be "pickier" than other platforms when it comes to accepting writers. As a freelancer, I'm driven to "up my game" because I'm not competing against a bunch of writing newbies but a bevy of experienced writing professionals. I appreciate that they keep me on my toes

Social Mention streamed everything together, calculated my sentiment for me, allows me to filter what results I am personally looking for, extract my RSS feed and navigate to one of the channels of buzz.

• Nearly 8 hours per month saved by not having to do invoicing, AR follow-ups, and payment processing manually
• Each year my revenue from nDash has almost tripled year-over-year
• nDash business now makes up nearly 1/3 of my revenue
• Much higher lead-to-client conversion rate on nDash compared to other channels

• The paid-version actually had a negative ROI for us as it would sometimes feed us topically inappropriate articles and didn't allow us to filter by source so as to eliminate inappropriate blogs and inappropriate news sources (like highly politically partisan ones).
