eDOCS vs. XWiki

My team and I have benefited positively from the work of this platform. Our content and any data that is created during the project implementation process are securely stored in a safe storage space. Documents are arranged well to enhance faster identification during the time of reference. It provides cloud-based based backup support to minimize file losses. It is best suited to the electronic data management suite.

XWiki is very well suited for a very wide range of web collaboration and web development.

• Secure.
• Accessibility.
• User experience.
• Ease of use.
• One stop solution for all types of file/data storage.
• Can be accessed via mobile, tablet, laptops.

• XWiki makes it easy to manage semi-structured information, which is at the heart of every knowledge nexus of organizations. It makes it easy to manage in a single system both structured data (such as memberships, projects), and unstructured data.
• XWiki offers a very rich API for creating enterprise applications quickly that are easy to maintain and evolve collaboratively.
• XWiki templating and skinning system is extremely flexible and powerful.

• While the basic pieces are available for turning XWiki into an advanced semantic system, some features could be made available more prominently to the user for easing the use of faceted and typed links, paving the way for a new era of collaborative knowledge sharing.

Microsoft SharePoint is a simpler alternative for OpenText eDOCS. It can be used for the same objectives, i.e. to share and manage content, search for information, and collaborate across business areas. Integration with other applications and platforms can be rather limited, in comparison to OpenText eDOCS, but the interface can be considered cleaner than the one of OpenText.

XWiki key differentiators in my opinion:

• Fast app development framework with very rich API
• Open-source strategy, opening the way to collaborative innovation

• Pros: providing secure application so that we do not worry about security perspective much.
• Pros : Ease of use.
• Pros : Accessible via mobile, tablets, cloud, laptops.
• Cons: Complex.
• Cons : Pricing can be improved.

• XWiki has a positive impact on the OW2 communication and collaborations strategies. It saves time when developing applications.
