Overall Satisfaction with OpenText eDOCS

Open Text eDOCS is an enterprise content management system that is used in my organization. It is a complete document management system enabling holistic content management - from searching and storing to organising. It is easy to integrate with other platforms and applications, like Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook emails).

Microsoft SharePoint is a simpler alternative for OpenText eDOCS. It can be used for the same objectives, i.e. to share and manage content, search for information, and collaborate across business areas. Integration with other applications and platforms can be rather limited, in comparison to OpenText eDOCS, but the interface can be considered cleaner than the one of OpenText.

OpenText eDOCS can work well with a lot of content to be managed. It is a complete document management system that is most useful when integrated with other platforms and applications. It requires an investment of money and time, but this finally pays off in terms of efficiency, security, and enhanced audit trail.
