Learn More About Data-as-a-Service (DaaS)

What is Data-as-a-Service (DaaS)?

Data-as-a-service (DaaS), alternately data services, describes a number of data on demand products available to enterprises. The advantage of the DaaS model of obtaining data is that the vendor manages data storage and preparation, ensuring data quality and data cleansing themselves. By providing the data in a usable state they bear the cost of both time and money.

Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) Features

Data services, or DaaS, provide the following benefits and features:
  • Data prepared by vendor, delivered ready to use
  • Can be integrated into larger data set to increase analytic validity
  • Can be integrated into CRM, or other sales / marketing systems
  • Data updates are the responsibility of the vendor

Pricing Information

Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) products are usually priced by volume; more data available equals greater price. However, some data is of more value than other. So data services may be priced according to the perceived value they offer. Thus pricing varies by industry, and the intended purpose of the data. Rarer, some data on demand services are priced by calls. Users of the data are charged when they access data in this case.
