With Nielson Cloud, we were able to connect all the marketing products in one dashboard which was really useful to calculate the return on investment each platform was generating for us and to make future decisions based on that information. It was also essential to keep all the data in a cloud to which everyone in our company had access.

It was used strictly by me and strictly for feedback from our clientele. We utilized surveys post-transaction closing to get feedback from our customers. It was a good way to gauge what were are doing right with our clients versus where or what we can improve upon. This allows us to adjust moving forward.

I think Nielsen is an ideal solution for survey and promotion. I think incentives for customers truly help the ROI on this platform. I feel they could do better with email customization but it's a great starting point. It's clear to see who access and what survey results are available as well.

Best suited for scenarios involving detailed analysis of customer data and demographics. Allows for complex investigation of customer and audience details. Less well suited for scenarios involving simultaneous collaboration on analysis. This product is not the best for collaboration and is better suited for individual work and individual forms of analysis.

My entire department and client team use Nielsen Marketing Cloud's service and Data Management Platform. It helps us house NCS data segments, allowed us to build and de-duplicate audiences, as well as house our 1st party data to create LAL models.
  • Audience building is completely intuitive and easy to do!
  • The audience planner tool helps easily assess duplication across segments and audiences
  • The NMC team is always there to lend a helping hand
  • Their DMP is incredibly slow - it often times out and freezes or kicks you out of the UI.
  • Downloading reports becomes difficult, especially for household level overlap reports.
  • Develops for integration are incredibly time-consuming!
If you have a robust audience strategy and a ton of CRM data from a client, I'd recommend using NMC. Their integration and easy access to NCS segments makes my job 10X easier.

Exelate is currently being used by my media planning team and the adops team. We basically use it for more niche targeting - for example: demographics and behavioral patterns. It helps give us the option for mainly direct response advertisers who are looking to reach a specific target.
  • As stated before able to target a specific demo or behavior pattern
  • Has higher click through rate than regular rotational placements - which in returns leads me to believe exelate has more user interaction
  • Data used from exleate reports can help our ad solutions team with marketing decisions as well as my team with which segments perform the best for certain demographics and behavior patterns.
  • More segments need to be created as often as possible
  • Sometimes it is hard to optimize these segments when the CTR is low - segments make it difficult to pull out zones/sites that are dragging down the CTR because they are so narrowly targeted.
I would highly recommend exelate for small geo-targeted campaigns and direct response campaigns looking to reach a very narrow audience.
