We use ActiveCampaign to email our newsletter out and organize the people who subscribe to it. ActiveCampaign allows us to create automations (particularly welcome sequences that direct subscribers to specific offerings), segments, and different lists, which has been a huge help to our company. It's the only email service we use.
Pros
Email Scheduling
List Segmentation
Email Automation
Cons
There are a LOT of features and it can be overwhelming
I wish there were easily found tutorials for using different features - if there are things like this, I haven't found them yet
I wish they would not push their AI features so much - I do not like them and will not use them, but they continue to pop up first when I go to, say, write an email

Honestly I think ActiveCampaign is great for most companies that are seriously trying to scale up and grow. If you're just starting out, your probably don't need all the features that ActiveCampaign offers, you could get away with a simpler system, but if you want to grow, ActiveCampaign is a great choice.
I use this all the time and it is extremely effective in lead generation for my company. The messages don't end up in the spam folders and it gives me all the help I need to keep my audience active.
Pros
Keeping my email list clean
Scheduling out messages easily and reusing messages
I use ActiveCampaign to send out three e-newsletters to over 50,000 customers every week. I started working with them because of their attention and understanding with small-business leaders like myself. They are reliable, easy to use and quick to respond to issues. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Pros
Respond to issues
Protect small-business people
Make things simpler
Cons
The design could be more up to date
Designing emails could be easier to use
Being able to talk to someone would be great--not just emails and online chats.

I've been with ActiveCampaign for over eight years now. I'm satisfied, and feel like they're in my corner.
We use ActiveCampaign mainly for our marketing team. It helps us with all our forms and the integration it offers for Facebook, Hubspot, and our website. We also use it on our website, it helps us keep all our leads in one place and we find it very convenient and reliable.
Pros
Forms
Integrations
Analytics reports
Cons
Customer service could be more faster
Use more of the AI features available in the market

I would recommend ActiveCampaign to other businesses that need a software that offers all-in-one forms. The automation process is pretty straightforward and can be very useful if you deal with a large number of leads and need reliable software. We are not using it as our CRM, but if the pricing is more affordable, we would probably think about it.
I use ActiveCampaign for automations, weekly campaigns, forms and landing pages. I love some of the new features such as the AI generated campaign templates and the calendar view for campaigns. It’s definitely a platform you can grow with.

Cons

If you have a content-based business with more than a 1,000 contacts, ActiveCampaign is a great option.
I use ActiveCampaign for email drip campaigns primarily. The reason this is important for me is my pipeline can be as long as four plus years. It is important that I remind my list that I am available to help their child when they are somewhere within the 16-26 year mark. That could mean multiple kids within a family will need me when they need me, and it can be anytime within that 10-year span.
Pros
Storing emails to reuse so you don't have to recreate each email with links
Storing pictures so they are always close at hand as needed
Answering my questions quickly when I'm creating a complex email drip
Cons
Integrating with Squarespace
Giving me ideas on other ways I can use AC in my business.
Building emails can take a long time as the program churns to save and retrieve data

ActiveCampaign is dependable and has a ton of functionality. It is great for a company that needs a sales funnel and other more complex processes. I like that there is an option to add on subscribers as you need them. It may not be great for people who do not need all the functions.
Have used activecampaign for various projects over the last several years and have watched it evolve over the years. Have used it to support call centers as well as other types of sales funnels. There are some places where it is limited (especially the lack of integrations without zapier), but where it really succeeds is in its all-in-one and automation capabilities. It is a sales and marketing stack in a single package.
Pros
full marketing stack in one software
emails and email automation
overall funnel automation
Cons
pricing may be prohibitive for small businesses to use full capability of software, and can get incredibly expensive quickly if you generate a lot of leads.
support has fallen off over the past 3 years. if im spending over $500/month, i should be able to call and talk to someone whenever i want.
if you decide to leave or move to another system, youll have trouble getting a detailed version of your data

Best for small businesses that wont be growing very quickly but need to take advantage of a robust marketing automation software that is easy to use out of the box. Not good for businesses that will generate a lot of leads, as the price may become prohibitive quickly. Also, if your business is a phone-based business and not an email-based business, you may have some problem getting the software to work the way you'd like.
I use it for email marketing to my audience. It has worked well for sending customers targeted email sequences, based on their interest. The features and ease of use has been invaluable for growing and engaging my customers and followers. It's been excellent for sending relevant emails that are highly targeted via tags and segmentation.

You can build an automated series that delivers content each day.
You can Use tagging to track engagement (e.g., “Clicked email 3,” or “Did Not Open Day 4”).
You can set up a follow-up sequence for engaged users: “Loved this? Join the full Mastery Pathway.”
For less engaged users, trigger a re-engagement email.

ActiveCampaign solves an email automation problem. We must send customers emails at a specific date during their subscription cycle. These automations were easy to set up, timely, and kept customers engaged and aware.
For instance, when a subscription is coming up for renewal we send a specific email at specific intervals. ActiveCampaign helps us accomplish this. Also, welcome emails are sent to new subscribers. Another instance occurs when a payment is declined. An ActiveCampaign automation sends the customer an email when payment is incomplete.
These three automations have helped us retain customers.
Pros
Automations
One-off Campaigns

Sales Funnels
Cons
Lack of phone support
Inability to disable notifications

Ease of use. You can set up a few automation within minutes.
Predictive sending. Send emails to your customers when they will read it. ActiveCampaign does this automatically when selected.
Tag on import. Add tags to customers as they are added to the system. This can make automated flows easier to manage.
Bounce/Unsubscribe reports. This keeps your list and your sender rep in good condition. The integration with NeverBounce will help here too.
