Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our department, Customer Marketing AKA Base Management, uses them for our application marketing channel and for Push notifications. This allows us to engage our users per brand for our My Account app. We issue various campaigns targeted at users to work within the app but also to refer to other marketing channels or business segments.

It is a powerful tool with many use cases, I've only used the tip of the iceberg with so much more to explore. I could easily send out a last-minute message if needed as it's fairly easy and quick to set up. It has helped to improve the perception of the products too.

Pros

Setting up the target audience within Airship using attributes is one of my favorites.
Airship has a very user-friendly interface with detailed documentation for self-help. I also enjoy the training sessions, articles and reports Airship organized as those are very insightful and useful.

Cons

No doubt it has tons of useful information, but this requires more time to understand and explore to fully utilize it.
I find the use of performance analytics a bit difficult.

Airship's platform provides an end-to-end solution for capturing value across the entire customer app lifecycle — from acquisition and activation to engagement and loyalty which is so important to our long-time parishioners. Reporting is limited to admin access, so a less-than-ideal situation. However, Salesforce integration. Ease-of-use UI. Quick response from support.

With it, I work with different teams to send out a lot of push emails, inbox messages and in-app messages. I found the setup process relatively easy and it was pretty quick, so if ever I needed to send a message at the last minute, I was able to do that with some ease. One of the nicest things to do was set up a target audience in Airship using traits. The data team helped me to set this up and to load regularly a data set into the Airship system.

Ensures messages reach buyers promptly.

Regularly loads data set into the Airship system.

Cons

The team provides assistance but some options are hidden.
A/B tests cannot directly compare the effectiveness of pushes.
Ensuring even distribution of Pushes is challenging due to limited time or Airship's handling.

Likelihood to Recommend

Airship is best for clients who wants easy to use layout for managing scenes. It provides tools for creating and controlling flows . Allows mixing of text, pictures and interactive parts and design choices can be changed. Airship is efficient and I recommend it.

Airship is one of the CRM tools we use for personalized SMS messages. It can be used with other messaging channels as well like push notifcations, emails etc.. We like how it functions with SMS and the analytical metrics it provides. It also is quite easy to organize multiple message campaigns.

The UX is not as polished as bigger competitors
Integrating took some work, but once done has worked smoothly

If you need a messaging CRM that has analytics features, and are looking to spend a little less money than some of the big names, then this can be a great tool. It is a little less polished, but it gets the job done well and plays nice with other software once integrated.

We are a product company and for research work or testing purposes, we build dummy mobile app experiences as an MVP. For that, we need no code mobile app creation tool and Airship helps best in such scenarios. We do create basic pages, and workflows and add trigger-based notifications. We can also do A/B testing of our content and flows.

Once the app is ready, we can track usage details and make changes on the go. No need for developers and no one needs to update existing apps. This helps us to do iterations of MVP. Once we are good to go with our findings from MVP, we do app development inhouse.

Pros

Building basic app and distributing with anyone easily
Building user journeys
Doing A/B testing

Cons

AI for content creation can reduce a lot of our efforts
Ready to use templates for web pages are very low (just 3 options currently). Can have more prebuilt templates

It's well suited for basic app building or we say static mobile apps—no need for developers. We use it for MVP purposes and in most cases it fits and in a few, it does not. Overall many things are not possible with Airship, but doable if you are going for a full-fledged development team.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am working as a marketing automations specialist at my current organization. I use Airship as a CRM to send communications to the entire user base of our brand. This includes emails, push notifications, and in-app notifications. I also execute and manage different sequences and journeys according the customer lifecyle. Apart from that, I also work on the in-built performance analysis dashboards to collect and analyse KPIs of different campaigns we're running. So, overall, I have been working on almost all the crucial features Airship is offering and making them to my best use.

Pros

Efficiently handling the communication delivery for a huge number of customer base.
The performance analytics dashboard offers information about each part within the campaign that we want to analyse.
Customer support response is good.

Cons

Dashboard is robust but very complex to use. It can be made easy.
More features should be added when designing templates for emails or landing pages.

Well-Suited for:

Using Airship to create a better more seamless solution to handle and deliver communications and enhance user engagement and experience. Also providing excellent analytics that help give us much better user insights. The integration through a very user friendly interface was definitely a bonus, documentation was good and easy to understand and utilize.

Airship is good to create a more integrated, consistent experience that organizes many features, tasks, etc. in one place. The no code editor is also helpful for less tech savy people on your team to contribute more. While it is great for overall user engagement and experience, I wish there was a little more flexibility for experimentation with retargeting, A/B testing, etc.
