Axcient x360Cloud Review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Axcient x360Cloud as our primary backup for Microsoft emails as well as Sharepoint.

The problem it addresses is that if an email is compromised and an attacker deletes everything we have a point of return as well as if some other bad actor such as a terminated employee.

Pros

  • Simple and easy to use UI
  • Does what it needs to do
  • Support if relatively fast

Cons

  • Live chat support is not available for all products
  • Support will sometimes take a while and bounce around to multiple teams and people
  • Search functionality is lacking and confusing

Return on Investment

  • Allows to charge customers a fee as we have a backup
  • Allows us to recover files in disaster recovery scenarios which has allowed us to garner a lot of praise
  • Adds additional maintenance as we have to check if backups are working routinely

x360 cloud is a solid solution but needs one big feature to stand out

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We did a extensive POC and ultimately decided to not completely migrate over to Axcient x360Cloud due to one major issue we had which was the lack of daily backup verification meaning that the back up that was taken is not verified working daily as it is with some other vendors however most of the other toolset impressed us quite a bit and we deployed on a few different solutions.

Pros

  • Service Options
  • Bring your own hardware
  • pricing was some of the most competitive

Cons

  • Nightly backup boot verification

Cloud backups done right

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We manage the IT for 50 companies who use Office 365 with Axcient x360Cloud. Most companies are unaware that Microsoft's retention policies aren't a backup and this is where Axcient fits in. We've had many occasions where we've needed to restore snapshots to recover emails from users who have left the company, etc. x360 Cloud gives us as administrators and clients the peace of mind that all their 365 cloud data is being backed up and easily recoverable if and when required.

Pros

  • Good visibility over backup status and protected users and data
  • Audit log activity information
  • Support requests
  • Smart Search
  • Reports

Cons

  • Smart Search - Filter by collection doesn't always show all the folders

Return on Investment

  • Compared to the previous vendor, Axcient is saving us $1,000 per month and providing better value
