We Datto SaaS Protection to backup the suite of Office 365 services (OneDrive, Email, SharePoint, and Teams) for some of our companies. Datto SaaS allows us to not only backup these services, but to restore these components in a DR situation by file up to entire site. The interface is easy to navigate and use.

  • Allows for reporting to find where backup errors have occurred so that these issues can be resolved by the user or by IT
  • The reporting interface could present more information regarding issues
  • When you look at each tenant account, listing the open tickets for that tenant would make it easier to communicate with Datto SaaS support.
We use Datto SaaS Protection to backup the suite of Office 365 services (OneDrive, Email, SharePoint, and Teams) for some of our companies as Microsoft doesn't perform this task. Datto SaaS is well suited for companies large and small. I do not foresee a situation where the use of Datto SaaS would not be appropriate.

We also use Barracuda Backup to backup Office 365 for some of our clients who also use Barracuda Email security products. Each product is a tool, and it is necessary to understand each client's needs before determining which product is best for them. Having said that, Barracuda Backup and Datto SaaS are the two best products in my opinion.

The cloud backend is quite simple to set up. Avoid involving the client at all. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace's default recovery options are quite restricted. One email or deleted/lost file can demonstrate the value of a complete recovery in the case of calamity, and even a single email or deleted/lost file proves its usefulness.
  • The ability to integrate with your current support tools.
  • For each customer, it is simple to set up and administer.
  • All of your data is safe and sound.
  • If possible, I'd like to give my customers the ability to retrieve their own data from my system.
  • It has to keep up with more training.
  • Google Workspace does not have access to SaaS defense.
Microsoft's suggestion to establish a 3rd-party backup even for cloud data is being met here. Data may be recovered much more easily than with the built-in recovery tools from Microsoft and Google. It's already common knowledge among customers that the typical O365 or G Suite offerings from Microsoft and Google do not provide any safeguards for their data. In the event that anything goes missing and you only discover it months later, SAAS has a remedy for this.

  • A single point of entry for all things SaaS.
  • The Datto SaaS protection is exactly what we were looking for to enable my clients back up their cloud data (M365, OneDrive, Teams, etc.).
  • All Datto options are designed such that minimum daily engagement with the product is necessary to still be able to easily pick up and leave, as is the case with this one.
  • In addition to its ease of use and low cost relative to its high value, we appreciate how affordable it is for us as well as our clients. I highly recommend it.
SaaS Protection from Datto is simple to configure and utilize. The automatic reports that I receive is what I enjoy most about the service. It's a breeze to keep track of all of my clients. In the event of a ransomware attack, the data is backed up and may be accessed again.

It brings the protection which is sought and it is delivered and managed simply which was also a key requirement when choosing from the options available. Set up is also straightforward and there is available information for queries and troubleshooting.

Datto SaaS Protection has met our requirements for providing protection across a large number of customers, allowing for simple installation, ongoing management, and customer reporting. As an MSP we utilized Datto to protect all of our 0365 tenants. This assisted with backing up all Onedrive data as well as SharePoint. This also was our means of backing up all email accounts throughout each organization. The deployments were quick and efficient for onboarding new clients.

In our experience and use of the SaaS service, it met all requirements we had. It worked really well in every single scenario that we used it for. Our company would work exclusively with Microsoft o365 so I can't speak for the Gsuite tooling. The one place I would have liked to see a bit of a facelift would be how it broke out the charge by users.
