Truly a Quality Document Management System
Overall Satisfaction with Box
Box was used as a repository for legal and financial documentation to be shared with internal and external stakeholders. While I'm unsure why the Executive Team chose Box as a solution for the company's document management needs, it suited our needs and purposes quite well.
Pros
- Box makes it easy to sync to your desktop.
- Add and revoke access to a particular file or folder.
Cons
- Box is not the best solution for situations where URLs have a character limit.
- If a new user attempts to sync a large amount of files to their computer, it will crash.
- Box served as a document management/collaboration system for 4 years providing immense productivity improvements.
- Box was pretty expensive once we reached 450-500 users.
Do you think Box delivers good value for the price?
Yes
Are you happy with Box's feature set?
Yes
Did Box live up to sales and marketing promises?
Yes
Did implementation of Box go as expected?
Yes
Would you buy Box again?
Yes
Box was selected prior to me starting with the company. We eventually switched to Sharepoint because of the cost savings, but otherwise, we would have preferred to stay on Box. OneDrive did not stack up to Box because it was determined that it was best suited for storing work files in places other than your desktop, but not the best for sharing.
