What is Catchpoint?

Catchpoint is an Internet Performance Monitoring (IPM) and Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM) platform designed to provide visibility into the entire "Internet Stack"—from local user devices to global network infrastructure. Following its acquisition by LogicMonitor in December 2025, the platform is being integrated as a core component of the LM Envision observability suite to bridge the gap between internal infrastructure health and external user experience.

Key Capabilities

Synthetic Monitoring: Uses a global network of over 2,500 nodes to simulate user interactions and test the performance of applications, APIs, and network protocols (DNS, BGP, CDNs) before users are impacted.
Real User Monitoring (RUM): Captures and analyzes actual user session data to provide high-fidelity insights into regional performance variations and browser-level execution issues.
Internet Performance Monitoring (IPM): Provides deep visibility into external dependencies that traditional monitoring tools often miss, including ISP health, BGP route leaks, and DNS resolution latency.
Endpoint Monitoring: Monitors the performance of employee devices and local connectivity (Wi-Fi, VPN) to troubleshoot issues for remote and hybrid workforces.
Edwin AI Integration: Telemetry from Catchpoint now feeds LogicMonitor's Edwin AI engine to provide predictive incident analysis and automated root cause detection across both internal and external environments.

Technical Specifications & Roadmap

Acquisition Status: Catchpoint remains available as a standalone solution but is being positioned as the primary path for all LogicMonitor synthetic monitoring needs. LogicMonitor is retiring its legacy LM APM Synthetics in favor of the Catchpoint-powered solution.
Roadmap (2026): Focuses on "Autonomous Operations" by unifying Catchpoint and LogicMonitor telemetry into a single console. The roadmap includes expanded coverage for edge computing environments and deeper integration with Edwin AI for predictive remediation.
