Databox has been extremely useful to help our clients (and our client success team) understand their marketing performance. We use it to create easy to digest marketing dashboards across campaigns. Databox is mostly used by our client success team to communicate impact, wins, and areas of opportunity and growth to our clients.
  • Dashboard creation
  • Tons of integrations
  • Visuals
  • Always could use more integrations
  • Can get a little pricey
Databox is really well suited for agencies with a client base that is bought into the data and analytics behind their campaigns. It is obviously important that you are using tools that integrate into Databox though.

To pull in data from several different places in order to track metrics and KPIs in one place. We mainly use it when it comes to tracking metrics in the sales, marketing and overall company/revenue areas. This allows us to see how we're performing and trending in easy-to-digest dashboards and widgets.
  • Create dashboards from a variety of data sources.
  • Set & track goals based on the data and metrics provided.
  • Send alerts and scorecard updates to Slack and email automatically.
  • More direct integrations so we don't have to rely on Zapier (ChartMogul would be great).
  • Deeper integrations with certain partners to provide more options (mainly ActiveCampaign & Intercom).
Great for tracking metrics if you rely heavily on certain integrations. E.g. Google Analytics has a lot of options so tracking traffic, visitors, goal completions from this works well. However, some integrations are lacking in options (ActiveCampaign, for example) and there's no ChartMogul integration at all. Relying on Zapier for these gives limited control.

We are using Databox mainly to monitor our sales activity in HubSpot since HubSpot's reporting on activities is pretty barebones. It is only administered and used by myself for the Sales department as a tool to measure and enforce CRM use/adoption. I show it in meetings monthly but check it frequently myself to make sure people are engaged, particularly after a meeting where we decide on a new plan of attack to increase activity. All-in-all, we use Databox to fill the gaps in HubSpot's very weak activity reporting, and we use it for accountability.
  • Automatically connects data without you having to think about it. I had another reporting tool that required me to set up all of the data connections for HubSpot from scratch and it was such a pain that I basically had to give up. I'm no SQL expert. Databox just worked.
  • The report wizard has good built-in boards that are great places to start building a view tailored to your specific needs
  • Has a head-spinning amount of customization options and potential data sources.
  • Some types of data can only be reported on for 1-2 months back. Unless I'm misunderstanding the function of the software this seems really weird. I can't figure out how to report on Activities more than 2 months ago
Databox is the perfect product for a team of people who want to just click a button and start making reports. It turns out most businesses don't need the highly customizable and very high-priced features of Tableau. If you need reporting that will take you beyond the absolute basic reporting in HubSpot or another CRM but don't want to break the bank, Databox is your product of choice.

Very little technical knowledge, time, or money is required to get a much clearer picture of your data using Databox.

We use Databox to aggregate metrics and data points from multiple sources into real-time data walls. We also build reporting dashboards for our clients, helping them sort, manage, and view reporting metrics and campaign performance.
  • Databox provides unique capabilities for displaying reporting requirements.
  • Databox allows users to connect multiple data sources into a single view, avoiding the need to log in to multiple software packages to access reporting in different formats.
  • Databox lets people without access to certain reporting sources the ability to view reports from a web link, without requiring login credentials.
  • Databox needs to expand their API connectors for existing connections.
  • Databox needs to expand their available connectors to a larger list of source providers.
  • Databox needs to make report setup and connection to different data sources more intuitive.
Databox is great for organizations that wish to pull reporting metrics from sources like Google, SEMrush, HubSpot, Salesforce, and other top software packages. It's less appropriate for organizations that populate data to antiquated or legacy software packages that aren't supported with current connectors.

Databox is used to create a marketing dashboard for the weekly marketing meetings to show how things are going for the month and for the last 30 days. The dashboard view allows us to see marketing in a one-page view and discuss what's working and not working and what we've done to create changes. It is truly only used by marketing, but it is viewed by upper management to see how marketing overall is doing. The business problem it addresses is being able to see a snapshot and not needing to pull a bunch of reports. It saves time and energy.
  • Easy to read dashboards - This allows a user to communicate information quickly.
  • Reporting for your needs (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) - This allows you to set the reporting structure that works for you.
  • Easy to connect software - With a few simple clicks you can connect a large number of software programs.
  • Reminders to update goals - It would be nice if every quarter or so it would remind you to adjust any goals as needed.
  • Change the layout of reports on the dashboard - While not super difficult, it did take me a while to figure out how to move the reports around so it was just right.
  • More templates with multiple sources - It would be nice to see more templates with multiple sources. While you can edit and add your own, it would be nice to see more of the common ones.
I believe Databox can be an asset for any company. We are a small company, but I can see the value for large companies too.

Databox is a great fit for departments or organizations that need to put their data into a readable form without needing a ton of reports. Databox allows you to save time and put together a nice report without having to do too much extra work. Once it is set up, it basically runs on its own at the frequency you set. I personally receive a daily report and have it sent to the respective people on the day of our meeting so we can quickly review it.

Databox is used as our agency's BI/dashboard tool to pull in analytics from various data points and create a more seamless display of KPIs and other metrics. We use the tool for both our own analytics, as well as create dashboards for clients as a way to easily report what is happening with their digital marketing efforts.
  • Pulls in analytics from various digital data points.
  • Easily design and create custom dashboards.
  • Saves time and energy by creating a real-time measurement.
  • Tracks goals and measures various KPIs.
  • Lacks integration with several tools we use for digital marketing.
  • Can be a bit complicated to get everything set up.
  • The white label/company branding requires the business plan which is very expensive with not enough value add.
Previously, we had to pull in the data manually and either create powerpoint slide decks or use Data studio which is nice, but not as seamless as Databox. Databox is great for marketers at any level as it can easily grow and expand depending on your needs and sophistication. It is light eight enough for small businesses and mid-market firms, but can also be beneficial for larger enterprises.

We create multiple databoards for each of the clients we serve, and most people on the campaign have some sort of hand in it. We implemented Databox in hopes of saving hours of times on reporting (we hate spreadsheets!) and for real-time data reporting. We also wanted a reporting platform that told more of a "story" for our clients, rather than just show some numbers. The visual aspect of the platform is awesome as well.
  • Databox is constantly looking for new ways to improve their platform, which is great. Databox one year ago is very different than what it is now!
  • If you know how to use the tool, it can be extremely powerful and flexible to what you're looking for. The ability to sync multiple different websites/platforms (HubSpot, Google Analytics, FB ads, etc) takes away the need to hop in and out of several different places for info.
  • Databox is a great way to add additional value for clients who are looking for reporting. No more spreadsheets!
  • Their support team is AWESOME and very responsive!
  • It can be very difficult to learn Databox, so definitely account for a learning curve if you make the investment. We've run into several cases where we spend weeks trying to figure out how to report on something, but when we get support to help us they figure it out in like 2 seconds. Tory is awesome!
  • Sometimes when HubSpot makes an update, it breaks our Databoards and then we have to go in and redo everything :(
Databox is great for high-level reporting. If you're a CEO who wants to see just the most important things, you can build a databoard to report just that. The nitty gritty that some people are looking for might not work best in Databox.

Databox is being used at our marketing agency for clients that use HubSpot, Google Analytics and other tools. It's not being used for magazines and companies we work with on a project-by-project basis. It addresses business problems of inefficient reporting and combining multiple data sources into one report with multiple metrics.
  • Combining and integrating with data sources
  • Beautifully displaying metrics
  • Customizing metrics and visualization styles
  • Time range filtering
  • Finicky editing tools
  • Custom reporting is more expensive
  • Limited visual customizations
Databox is fantastic for companies or agencies that regularly report on a variety of metrics from multiple data sources. It's ideal for any company that uses a variety of different tools (as long as Databox integrates with them). It's particularly good for HubSpot agencies and companies that use HubSpot. It's maybe not necessary for companies that only use one tool or don't do reporting.
