Midigator provides chargeback warning service for merchants.(Chargeback: After a credit card transaction occurs, the cardholder raises an objection to the transaction to the issuing bank and applies for a refund. When the credit card is stolen, or when the product is damaged or the product is not in the right version when shopping, chargebacks will often occur.)Some merchants have a lot of chargeback, so you need to use this function to reduce the chargeback.

Pros

  • Can provide timely warning notification
  • Be able to respond to customer questions in a timely manner
  • Merchant chargeback rate drops significantly

Cons

  • Can improve the processing time of early warning notification
  • Can warn more chargeback orders
  • Improve the efficiency of early warning processing

Be Ahead of Losing Money

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Midigator is amazing. We offer prepaid legal services with renewals occurring annually/monthly, and we have members who do chargebacks on their charges. We used to have to wait for the physical letter to come in to know about the chargebacks. Now, I check Midigator daily and am able to have CSR reach out before it is officially posted. This gives members time to reach out to their bank and cancel the dispute. Also, we have cases where members dispute a charge and call CS to cancel, and they also get a full refund on top of the bank returning their money. We have saved A LOT of money since using Midigator.

Pros

  • Being up to date on new disputes coming in.
  • Having a lot of fields with useful information.
  • Layout of the website is easily accessible.

Cons

  • When submitting a dispute, it stays pending for a long time - and we didn't get a notification of it closing out, nor a result of what the outcome was.
  • Going to DisputeFlow, it would be nice to have it automatically sorted with the newest chargeback on the top.
  • The daily emails in excel could be better formatted and easier to read.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is very useful for anyone who has to receive payment first before providing a service/sending off merchandise.

Midigator Review

Rating: 6 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The Midigator product is currently used to help provide Merchants with advance alerting to help prevent incoming chargebacks. Receiving an advance notice offers time to reach out to the client and work with them regarding their purchase. The advance alerts also help Merchants better understand what can be done to prevent the same occurrence from happening again.

Pros

  • Provide alerts for potential problems
  • Ability to provide risk scoring based on an individuals card
  • Provides the company with information to make better business decisions

Cons

  • Customer service is lacking
  • Response times
  • Ability to resolve issues

Likelihood to Recommend

Based on the product suites they offer, Midigator can certainly help decrease a merchants Chargeback ratio's, however, they double bill on Verifi/Ethoca alerts on the same transactions. Their response times are slow. Their boarding process is also slow.

Great Service and Product

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Midigator helps businesses with their chargebacks. It makes it easy to manage. The system can be adjusted as our business changes.

Pros

  • Chargeback Management
  • Support

Cons

  • A partner dashboard

Midigator is a great company that offers a great service. Helping businesses with their chargeback needs. A specific scenario based on my experience where Midigator came to the rescue would be reducing the chargeback percentage by 10% helping us keep our business merchant account processing.

Helpful but could improve a little

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Midigator to help me save a couple of chargeback alerts from becoming actual chargebacks, we often have cardholders trying to take away the money that belongs to us, without trying to communicate directly with the company, they just call their banks and try to start disputes. That's where Midigator comes in and sends us alerts regarding these issues, which is where we take the initiative to call the client and resolve it directly with them before these alerts become actual chargebacks.

Pros

  • Alerts
  • Uploads
  • Organization

Cons

  • Invoice billing could be more specific , add more details
  • Uploading chargeback documents could be missed less
  • Sending accurate alerts to us and not mistaken ones could save us some time too

Likelihood to Recommend

A scenario where Midigator is well suited is in the efficient response time. I like how fast Midigator always replies to my emails in a timely manner. I also appreciate how they are willing to go above and beyond always to help me and make sure I have all questions answered always.

Overall good experience with Midigator

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It's good, but the delivery of alerts is a bit clunky, and I need to pay staff to advocate for us to get credits back in certain instances. If not for this, I could use Midigator completely passively, and it would be more valuable, but it is still a good tool for us here. We do find the early alerts valuable to prevent chargebacks.

Pros

  • Has access to early alerts
  • Has good customer service
  • Cool concept

Cons

  • The delivery method of the alerts could be more efficient
  • Overlapping alerts could be identified and removed
  • The interface could use some improvements

Likelihood to Recommend

If a business doesn't have dedicated staff to process the alerts, the automations are really helpful versus not fighting chargebacks at all. It's a good tool for a small business that needs extra protection. You may not need this if you have dedicated staff to address early chargeback signals, but if your business is passive, this can be really helpful.

Helped us reduce chargebacks signficantly

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We primarily use Midigator for chargeback prevention. We're planning to start using it for disputes as well.

Pros

  • Alerts for disputes that have been filed
  • Easy to use interface for addressing disputes in Preventflow

Cons

  • Offer professional services for setting up Dispute Flow responses.
  • Try to get the person's name in the disputes. This is likely because that's all the data the processors provide, but if we could have the name, we could process these in about half the time.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited for addressing disputes before they become official chargebacks (PreventFlow). We've not yet started using the DisputeFlow to work chargebacks that have already come in. We still use our merchant processor's interface for that.

I'd to see more incorporation of RDR into the online interface. Right now, we just receive spreadsheets. In the notifications section, I have set up notifications for chargeback and prevention reports but don't see anything for RDR.

As the admin of Midigator, I'd like to have greater control over user management, particularly in setting up new users in our organization. There's nothing in the online interface with this.

Save Time/Money and Simplify your Merchant Responses with Midigator!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize Midigator with a multi-faceted approach.

1) We use Midigator, most importantly as a chargeback mitigation tool. We receive alerts via email directly from the Midigator dashboard, and we have 24 hours to respond to the Prevention Alert. We approach these alerts quickly and efficiently, and it helps our company prevent numerous chargebacks as well as save significant dollars each month. The system essentially pays for itself over time.

2) We use the Midigator Dashboard as a hub to respond to chargebacks (when unable to be prevented) across our multiple Merchant IDs (MIDs). We have had up to 4 MIDS at one time, and each of them had its own gateway, and it became difficult to manage (numerous logins, sign-ins). By consolidating all of those gateways onto Midigator's Dashboard, we save hours per week, tens of hours per month, and prevent headaches by not having to navigate several sites to execute one simple task.

Pros

  • Business to Client Interaction - Midigator employees respond quickly to client requests
  • Empowers their employees to make decisions in the best interest of the client they are serving
  • Helps prevent chargebacks/disputes
  • Saves their clients time and money
  • Ease of use
  • Consolidates multiple MIDs under one room for easy management and monitoring
  • Prices their products and services competitively

Cons

  • Instead of using a real-time google sheet to manage MIDs being monitored, perhaps an online form that's easy to access and revisit.
  • Perhaps have an algorithm that scans merchant descriptors in the wild and proposes the best descriptors to include for future alerts - a scientific way to widen the net.
  • Have one account manager that is more of a concierge-style for the lifespan of the client - but I'm just really trying hard to find something.

Likelihood to Recommend

Midigator is well suited to serve small, medium, and large businesses alike. Our company has been able to experience the use of Midigator across all three business sizes, and we never felt like Midigator was lacking. We are big fans and hope to use it for quite some time to come. I cannot currently think of an area where Midigator wouldn't be helpful for any business that conducts any sort of e-commerce where a credit card is accepted.

Just go with Midigator and get on with your business

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it to help manage our chargebacks. It helps us organize them and know any time we got a chargeback to help keep our MID's safe. I would say we use it on a very consistent basis and it's helped us save a lot of money, stress and effort.

Pros

  • Keeps track of all chargebacks for all MIDs
  • Helps fight chargebacks to save us money
  • Keeps our MIDs healthy which saves us money in the long run

Cons

  • Analytics gave us some problems in the beginning. The learning curve was a little steep as it was setup a little weird
  • The cost per chargeback is a little high honestly
  • I would love a summary of what chargebacks were actually saved

Likelihood to Recommend

I think Midigator is perfect for small businesses who aren't super familiar with managing MIDs. It keeps everything easy to coordinate and maintain. That way we can worry about other things and let Midigator sort out chargebacks, which can sometimes cause businesses to fail. It's been great for us and pretty hands-off once we got the hang of it.

Rest easy with Midigator in your corner

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As an online digital subscription product, we deal with a lot of chargebacks, especially in the friendly fraud arena. We struggled to mitigate the chargeback issues ourselves for many years before seeking the help of professionals, and Midigator has provided valuable insight and business metrics to help us get our chargebacks under control. Midigator's platform was tremendous in being able to track the alerts and chargebacks to help us pinpoint specific issues and ways to try and help reduce the risk of chargebacks.

Pros

  • The reporting in their portal is very well organized and easy to digest.
  • Any time that major issues arise, they always assign an expert to help us through the whole process.

Cons

  • RDR alerts are often categorized as chargebacks instead which takes some work on our side to get the numbers just right.
  • While upper management is very responsive and incredibly helpful when an emergency arises, we do not feel like the account managers are very knowledgeable or proactive.

Likelihood to Recommend

While there is some room for improvement within Midigator, such as customer service outreach and RDR being categorized as chargebacks in their portal, they have an excellent platform and do great reliable work. All members of the team, including upper management, are incredibly responsive and come through whenever there is a problem. I would recommend them for anyone trying to mitigate a chargeback issue.
