Klaviyo is well suited for an organization that does at least 500 orders per month. It has a lot of tools to boost marketing efforts as well as boost retention and help increase sales. Smaller companies or businesses that don’t sell direct to consumer might not need a tool of that calibre.
We use Klaviyo for all of our marketing emails that go out nearly every day! As well as our newsletter. And as a result it's an amazing tool at not just sending, but in collecting the data on those emails. Allowing us to know what subjects garnered a click, which products people clicked on the most, and how often people unsubscribe from just 1 too many emails.
Pros
Data Collection! It's extremely good at tracking the steps a user goes through from email to purchase.
Flows that allow for complex logic, multiple steps, and filtering based on how recently other emails were sent.
Blitzing out a campaign of hundreds of thousands of emails without missing a beat.
Cons
The flow system can be a little convoluted.
Transactional emails can be a little tricky to setup, and their automated assistant will often redirect you when you try to get help. (It requires manual intervention, but if the AI bot is keeping you from accessing anyone, you'll never get it approved.)
Campaigns and flows can be a little trick to search for and lead to confusing/doubling up when you realize you could have just reused a template you've made previously.
Likelihood to Recommend
If you are a big business, with thousands of customers, Klaviyo can be the thing that really kicks up your marketing. The amount of data you can collect and use can be invaluable. But if you don't have the time or money to devote to the marketing team, then you might waste money on data that you might not ever act upon.

Klaviyo proved to be a key tool in our migration to a new ecom platform and relaunch of our DTC business. The onboarding easily allowed us to import our existing mailing list and warm it up, and their team assisted us in developing proper pre and post sales flows, along with transactional messages that were more robust than what our ecom platform offered. Klaviyo provided a source of truth that integrated fully with our ecom platform and allowed us to accurately track activity and tag customers with relevant data.
Pros
custom contact tagging, allowing additional data to be added to contacts based on forms, emails opened/clicked etc.
flow building visualizer, makes it easy to create if/thens
custom report building
great customer support availability, chat support can usually be reached in minutes for questions and issues.
Cons
Report builder is unintuitive, could use drag-drop functionality
MFA expires every 24 hours - it would be nice to adjust the frequency
Editing templates while setting up a campaign gets a little confusing, sometimes it's hard to tell what step in the process we are, resulting in looping through the config several times.

Klaviyo is a robust suite for email marketing, for both rookies and pros in the space. It enabled us to hit the ground running with an unutilized list when we relaunched our site, and continue to grow that list in perpetuity.

We use Klaviyo for our entire B2C marketing an communication platform. We use around 35 different software and many of them want to email different parts of data at different times. Our biggest challenge was coordinating all the different emails going out. Klaviyo allowed us to consolidate a lot of that into a single system.
Pros
We are able to segment customers into separate email groups like B2B and B2C, as well as some VIPs
Being able to control all of the different inputs systems in one email chain is handy not overwhelming customers
seeing some metrics are helpful at times
Cons
Setup is not very easy, its not so plug and play. Some options are confusing and not intuitive.
We feel like you need a dedicated email person to understand email best practices, Klaviyo does not hold your hand very well.
Some actions are unclear, when trying to set up an email or create a campaign.
Likelihood to Recommend
It used to be a leader in the space, but they are adding all this extra software bloat and getting away from what they were really good at. The prices went up for elements that we don't want to use. Its still a good software but requires some setup and know how.
We use klaviyo for our campaigns, sms, and automations. It’s integrated with our e-commerce platform, SHopify, to capture customer behavior and purchase data, which allows us to create highly targeted campaigns and automated flows. It really helps with driving repeat purchases and increasing customer lifetime value as well as personalizing messaging at scale so that customers receive content that’s relevant to their behavior and preferences.
Pros
Full lifecycle flow series
A/B tested campaign sends
customer integration
Cons
Attribution can feel oversimplified — often showing inflated numbers if someone was touched by both paid media and email.
SMS is improving, but still not as advanced as dedicated SMS platforms
Likelihood to Recommend
Ideal when you need to personalize based on purchase history, browsing behavior, or engagement.
We segmented customers by product category purchased and sent targeted campaigns that spoke directly to their preferences — leading to higher open and click rates compared to batch-and-blast. It is less appropriate when making automated sms flows where outsourcing is better.
Klaviyo is awesome, I love how easy it is to use and it can sync with my website traffic to make customized emails and texts based on the products that person looked at on my website. The AI features are also very helpful. It's all very user friendly and they have regular educational webinars explaining new features all the time
Pros
customized emails
easy to use
seamless integration
Cons
more templates
more proposed campaigns
more one on one assistance
Likelihood to Recommend
works best for sites that have shopify or something similar. Harder to use when you don't use a big web developer like that, but does still work
We use Klaviyo as our CRM and also our email provider to create email flows and also campaigns, we have about 20 active flows, and send about 2 campaigns a week. We also use it to segment customers, and integrate with other tools. We have been using it for over 3 years since we launched
Pros
Segmentation
Deliverability
customer support
Cons
Pricing is expensive
sometimes glitchy
A/B testing can be improved
Likelihood to Recommend
Klaviyo is great for any business built on shopify, i think it could work for a small to medium sized business, but can't speak beyond that. . We also use it to segment customers, and integrate with other tools. We have been using it for over 3 years since we launched
We use Klaviyo to send promotional emails and text messages to our subscriber base. In addition, we have a series of automations set up in Klaviyo that are triggered when subscribers and/or customers perform a certain action (e.g. when they abandon their cart at checkout we have an abandoned cart flow set up in Klaviyo to help push them over the purchase line)
Pros
Tracks email attributed revenue
has a rich knowledge base
Segments audiences based on behavior incredibly well
Cons
Billing could be improved. They bill for every profile in your database regardless of how active/inactive they are
They could do with phone support
Deliverability could be improved, especially for accounts that recently migrated from another esp.

Klaviyo houses all the email and associated sms numbers of our subscribers. This is incredibly convenient as I can create text campaigns based on email promotions and vice versa. They also have great popup forms that can seamlessly integrate to our website, which are also conveniently tied to the email lists and segments in Klaviyo.
