Overall Satisfaction with Klaviyo

We are a Shopify Agency so we work with dozens of ecommerce clients across different sectors. We primarily support with on site conversion, but a big part of this is conversion and we need to ensure our merchants are re-targetting users who are engaged with their brand. That's where Klaivyo comes in. Klaviyo is what 9/10 of our clients use for their email marketing so often we support with setups, and advising on what they are missing.

Pros

Cons

  • Some Shopify integrations are limited (e.g. smartwishlist has limited segmentation options with klaivyo)
  • Pricing can sometimes be a sticking point for our brands
  • Would be helpful also if there was more AI integrations that recommended to brands what kind of flows they should have based on their business model
  • Allowed out merchants to immediately increase revenue
  • Increased CLTV [Customer lifetime value]
  • Allowed us to add new functions which are backed by email campaigns (e.g. loyalty campaigns, preorder etc...)

We don't lean as much into this within our department, but we do use it quarterly to review if our audience segments should be changed or updated. We have found the behvaioural insights have also helped us make a lot of on site changes as well, from the learnings around what kinds of offers users are compelled to and which they aren't.
Mainly retention and upselling to be honest. Certainly acquisition too but the more valuable are the former
Klaivyo has much more extensive and well rounded functions. The other tools are a little more generalist so aren't as great in allowing our clients who are primarily in ecommerce to succeed. The reporting isn't as good and the page builders are much more limiting to admin. We also like having the ability to AB Test

We frequently recommend Klaviyo to clients. Klaviyo is best suited for our ecommerce clients, less so for our B2B clients as they don't get as much immediate revenue impact from it. It integrates extremely well with Shopify and we also love it's preorder functionality which allows us to add additional functionality to stores with ease.

Using Klaviyo

3 - Managing and monitoring clients' integrations into their shopify store. Setting up on site forms and newsletter sign up fields. We then validate if the data is being sent through properly and firing the clients' email marketing flows through klaivyo. Often we link it to things like pre-order, back in stock notifications or wishlist functionalities.
3 - Mainly our developers and project managers use the tool on an ongoing basis to support clients with Klaviyo. The support from Klaivyo is generally good and there are a lot of educational contents to watch to get skills from. Mostly, the skills needed are in just hooking up forms, knowing basic development practices, knowing marketing practices and design.

Our clients are all very wedded to the use of Klaviyo as it is very comprehensive and advanced specifically for ecommerce. They rarely come across limitations in the platform. Perhaps more advanced page building design options, as often clients find that their emails can be left looking quite basic without custom HTML designs. But otherwise, it integrates very well across platforms and we've not had any issues.
