Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I need to run payroll when I want and not get in trouble with the IRS or the state for doing it wrong. OnPay makes it easy to run payroll from anywhere and I have never run into any filing problems. In the odd instance it has happened, they have corrected issues behind the scenes with little to no demand on my time.

OnPay is easy to navigate with a great onboarding experience. Customer service is great but I really like being able to login and see my requests have been resolved. Processing payroll is simple and taxes are properly withheld and paid. Mapping was a little tricky but I figured it out. This company is reliable and professional!

We use Onpay to run payroll for our small team. We were using Paychex and their platform over complicated and overcharged. Onpay made it straightforward for us to manage users and complete payroll, all for a fraction of the cost. It has streamlined our process and relieved a major headache for our office.

We are a very small company, and this is our first employee and first payroll run, so we were very ignorant and wanted to ensure we did it right. OnPay's onboarding process of assigning a representative to walk us through the first payroll was amazing and critical to our feeling comfortable with the platform. Elise was so friendly and helpful, and I knew we made the right choice with OnPay!

We use OnPay for payroll. The biggest solution it provides is an easy-to-use tool to track PTO, employee records and handle all legal aspects of payroll. We recently integrated a 401(k) plan into it to simplify the process of giving employees an easy way to manage their own savings as well as ensure the company's match is paid automatically. In 2026, we'll again integrate an HSA plan into OnPay.

  • Easy to set up and run as an employer who's wearing all operations hats.
  • Easy to use for employees.

Cons

  • It's sometimes difficult to find the right information using the search function, so I end up calling.
  • When setting up new employees, it would be helpful to make sure I've filled out everything required.

Speaking as the leader of a small organization who wears multiple hats, I can delegate all payroll duties to OnPay for a reasonable cost. Larger, more complex organizations may benefit from something else, but OnPay is definitely suited well for those with smaller budgets and staffs where the person handling payroll has multiple duties and might not be a human relations expert.

I recently switched to OnPay for our payroll processing service. The entire process was quick and easy, the customer service was fast to respond to my questions. I just processed our first payroll with them and it was a very easy process. Employee feedback has been positive, too. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for simple, straightforward payroll processing!
