Overall Satisfaction with OnPay

I am a solo S-corp business. I need to run payroll and withhold taxes for myself annually.

Pros

  • Customer service
  • rapid and easy onboarding

  • Better pricing compared to the alternatives

Cons

  • More guided instructions or tips within the product
  • Less expensive than a PEO company or other HRIS platforms
  • Easy to use and set up so I don't have to spend a lot of time using it.
  • Ability to use month to month
The customer service was incredible. I had a very tight deadline to buy, onboard, and run payroll. Their onboarding leader got on the phone and walked me through everything and ensured I met my payroll deadline.
The UX is good. OnPay could refine their training tutorials and in-product guides to make it even better.
OnPay is less expensive than the larger HRIS payroll platforms, and same cost as Gusto Solo. But OnPay has better peer reviews than Gusto and I was impressed with their speed to onboard.

For solopreneurs, I think OnPay is the best option. They have great peer reviews, incredible customer service, speedy onboarding, easy to use, and great value compared to the alternatives. Their digital platform makes it easy to do this internally rather than hiring a PEO company that is slower and layered with more processes.
