Postmark is the transactional email holy grail!
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I use Postmark currently and have used it since November 2020. I use it as an SMTP for transactional email on a bunch of websites (25+). It has been as close to perfect as I've experienced with most any SaaS I've used in the last decade, and I've used a lot of SaaS. I used to use website servers for transactional email (terrible, opaque experience), then eventually moved over to Sendgrid (issues with spam and not great reporting), and finally settled on Postmark.
I love how I get a weekly email for each website with a summary of the total emails sent through Postmark, and bounces (if any). Usually, if there are bounces it's because someone put in the wrong email (occasionally because someone sent a prior email to spam). This has been useful to tell e-commerce clients when one of their customers didn't receive the confirmation email due to entering the wrong email during purchase.
Everything about Postmark is great - support, setup, product, visibility into what's going on. I wasn't sure what to expect when ActiveCampaign bought it, but so far, no change. A+, highly recommend for transactional email.
Pros
- Great, helpful customer support (rarely needed)
- Reliable product
- Well thought out interface, easy setup
- Great ongoing visibility into status of emails sent through Postmark
Cons
- Honestly, there is no real place I would expect them to improve.
Likelihood to Recommend
Postmark is great if you need a reliable SMTP provider.
