Overall Satisfaction with 8x8 Virtual Office

8x8 VO is used throughout the entire organization to manage phone calls, faxing, and texting, It provides one unified business phone number that can be used on a desk phone, PC, and mobile device.
  • It is fairly easy to install and get operational. This is good for IT staff.
  • It displays caller ID information on the PC when someone calls. Good for productivity and not needing to shift focus.
  • It does work fairly well on mobile devices to be able to take calls while on the road.
  • The VO desktop interface is honestly horrendous. It seems to get worse with every iteration. Changes are made for what appears to be change itself. No rhyme or reason to the layout and configuration.
  • The texting feature of VO frequently breaks and can only be corrected by 8x8 technical support. It is a slow process and affects productivity.
  • The mobile app frequently misses calls even when there is good data connectivity.
  • ROI has been positive as compared to our old POTS lines with in-house PBX.
  • Billing has been terrible due to additional (incorrect) charges and taxes. No consistency and no easy way to fix.
No recent evaluations of other products.
Well suited for mobile professionals and those who like to integrate the phone experience with their PC.
