Overall Satisfaction with 8x8 Work

We used 8x8 primarily as our business phone and SMS tools. Our challenges were created when we returned a primary phone number to 8x8 and requested to terminate other unused phone numbers / lines to reduce costs, etc. 8x8 support took months to correctly complete the request, always placing the blame on us because they wanted an extra 'termination' step that we were unaware of on the original request phone call that took 45+ mins to complete.

Pros

  • Desktop App.
  • SMS

Cons

  • Support - use US-based support to serve US-based clients.
  • Dashboard and resources are dysfunctional - they must be located in one place, not on multiple websites.
  • Allowed me to interact with my primary and secondary clients via SMS, significantly increasing efficiencies and lowering red man hours to communicate via voice calls and email.
I was a client of 8x8 for years, and 80% of the time, I worked without issue, and support was efficient in resolving tickets, etc.

Overall, it is a good product and competitively priced. The mobile app is too glitchy and doesn't work well with mobile carrier connections.
