Overall Satisfaction with Acquia Digital Experience Platform

The tool is used to host 20+ sites for each directorate at OJP. The key problem the tool addresses is having a common code base, architecture, and infrastructure for all directorates. Prior to Acquia, there were several technologies used for hosting the sites which created difficulties in maintaining, staffing, and updating sites.

Pros

  • Consistent user interface
  • Uptime
  • Robust logging and error tracking

Cons

  • Provide a tier of service where Acquia provides a true PAAS rather than relying on the development team upgrade core components
  • Good ROI since we replaced several technologies with one Acquia cloud
With Cloudflare CDN and the caching provided by Acquia, the sites are very responsive and have scaled well as more users have engaged with the site.

The tool is great for organizations that have web presences that provide similar functionality and content. However, a dedicated development team will be required to maintain security patches and necessary upgrades.
