Overall Satisfaction with Acumatica

Reports, GIs and dashboards to report cash basis and project tracking using the Submittal module.
With a customized Submittal module with custom columns and Business Events, I can track submittals, shipments and payments for our cash basis monthly reports.
I use Report Designer to copy and modify built-in reports for different uses.

Pros

  • GI creator is easy to use
  • Report builder has a good UI
  • Submittal module needs to be expanded, but is a great project tracker.

Cons

  • Cash basis reporting is not there when you use Project Transactions.
  • Needs more project management features. I have to use another product to see project status.
  • The Submittal module works great for tracking submittals and with modifications I can track shipments and cash basis payments. I think it should be added out of the box.
  • We were told that we could do cash basis reporting, but we can't because we use Project Transactions, three years later we are still running our old reporting software.
  • Three years into it, we still can't track a project as well as our old program.
  • Accounting is much better than Sage

We haven't been able to use the features Acumatica provides due to still configuring basic reporting and job tracking after three years of use.
Acumatica feels like it was piece milled together and links between modules aren't there. A check isn't linked to a project task. It is viewable in the UI, but it can't be linked in a GI.

It is better than Sage, but still missing a lot of project management and cash basis reporting. I would love a one stop shop to handle all aspects of our business. Project tracking and cash basis reporting is still done outside of Acumatica. I don't know if adding project tracking features will make it to big or slow, but it would be nice to have it in one place.
