Overall Satisfaction with Acumatica

We implemented Acumatica to streamline inventory tracking and planning and simplify accounting and purchasing processes. We manufacture commercial dry vans, fire trucks, and fire truck cabs for dozens of customers, serving the large-scale market. Acumatica has enabled us to eliminate Excel spreadsheets for workflow management and implement digital workspaces that are easily accessible to all and reflect real-time updates to our scheduling and dispatches.

Pros

  • Work center dispatch specified for individuals. It lists the work orders to be completed in sequence related to the schedule.
  • Mass-releasing of work order materials/components through material wizard.
  • Audit history enables me to see who did what, when, and what changes were made, so I can identify root causes.

Cons

  • Allowing more default issues from bins would be wonderful, so we can assign inventory consumption locations near a work center.
  • I'd like to see multiple storage bins listed as bin locations, rather than just a default issue from or a default receipt to. We store parts in several buildings and would like a HOME location in EACH building for each shared part.
  • I'd like a little more information on the inventory transaction page. User name column, description column.
  • We've been able to track and manage demand much more efficiently with automation rather than spreadsheets and paper-based scheduling.
  • We've improved engineering efficiency to support our manufacturing team. We've enhanced our ability to customize our product to meet order requirements.
I have not used the Acumatica AI features yet, but I look forward to utilizing them.
We've been able to manufacture products faster through automated scheduling processes. We've been able to plan inventory allocations much more effectively and plan for future consumption through more controlled demand.
I spend my day in the materials and inventory control portions of Acumatica. Tracking, transferring, consuming, and creating components, materials, and finished goods. Acumatica allows me to oversee ALL inventory across all processes and monitor the status of work orders and the location of parts at all times.

Yes

Acumatica has provided us with the entry traceability we were lacking. It comes at a cost, requiring more time to transact and complete transfers, but much less inventory has been lost since we went live. It has been a learning experience, learning to switch between several screens instead of fewer screens with more information. Our material handler struggles to maintain adequate time on task when systematically transferring materials. There is a lot involved in the process.
