Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat

Adobe is used for creating and editing PDFs, adding encryption and protection, and for form management through their ancillary licensing online. The tool has also been used for simple editing of EPS files, as required, to reduce the need for multiple other tools added to our suite. It creates customer facing artefacts.
  • Password protection and encryption
  • Electronic signature and simple workflow
  • Editing of existing PDF and EPS files
  • Ability to find the right feature within the tool
  • Speed when being used on computers with limited specs
  • Workflow decisions for esignatures
  • PDF passsword protection and encryption
  • Cut or merge PDFs
  • Editing existing PDFs
  • Cloud Solutions
  • Other
It is the defacto standard for managing PDFs, so there was little consideration when you look at the overall use cases and products which cover all of them. The fact that it is a cloud solution so we're not tied to a single desktop is highly useful when managing files on the go.
  • Not quantifiable, but much quicker to prepare files for customers
  • Reduced risk because of the PDF protection
Security is very tight on the cloud access, however this doesn't necessarily change a company's own approach to protecting files. The fact that it uses high factor encryption is valuable and a consideration as I was assessing which license to purchase.
Adobe is an all round solution which is head and shoulders above what other individual software providers offer because it's integrated. The fact that it not only offers desktop and cloud integration is a huge plus and compliments modern OS and access such as Microsoft 365. It was a no brainer when purchasing.

Do you think Adobe Acrobat delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Acrobat's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Acrobat live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Adobe Acrobat go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Acrobat again?

Yes

It is well suited when you need to do more than simply save a file as PDF, such as when you need to add protection (password, encryption, or change protection) or when you need to make a change or addition to an existing file. It also does very well at capturing signatures.

For simple "save as" or "print to" PDF, it is a little slower than the functionality already in Windows / Microsoft 365.

Using Adobe Acrobat

ProsCons
Like to use
Technical support not required
Well integrated
Consistent
Quick to learn
Feel confident using
Familiar
Unnecessarily complex
Cumbersome
  • Create PDF
  • Edit existing PDF - cut, merge, reorder
  • Add signature
  • Finding the right tool - often requires a google/bing question first
  • Editing an EPS file - color, transparency
The features on the desktop version are all toolbar based, which makes it a little more cumbersome on a smaller device (and much simpler on a large screen). The web forms adjust well to different screen size so work well on mobile, tablet and computer.
