Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat

This is a standard piece of software for us, as a law firm. We use it to view, save, file and send documents. PDF documents provide a safe and standard way to do all these things.

Pros

  • save documents in a preserved format
  • ability to edit text
  • ability to sign documents digitally

Cons

  • editing documents - changing one thing often messes up another
  • editing pictures - lines and numbers often get distorted
  • flattening or cute PDF save a document distorts text or pictures
  • improved security, preserves formatting of documents in a lot of ways
  • productivity is helped because Adobe is so widely used
  • I can only imagine this all reduces cost, we probably get a reduced price as a business
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
Probably the widespread use. It's hard to turn away from Adobe when we communicate and exchange documents with so many types of organizations and clients. Including those overseas, it helps to keep uniformity.
I can't speak in the greatest detail on this one - real talk, I'm not an IT person who would know a lot about that. But, we do have to file documents with governmental organizations for our business. Security, formatting and protection from breaches is important, and to my knowledge we haven't had issues there in particular.
This is a feature I personally have had to use a lot as we have to contact inventors for their signatures on a lot of documents. The ability for them to sign digitally is extremely helpful. A manual signature is harder to get and contacting these individuals can be hit or miss anyway.

Do you think Adobe Acrobat delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Adobe Acrobat's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Acrobat live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Adobe Acrobat go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Adobe Acrobat again?

Yes

Well suited to save and send documents. Saving to a cute PDF format preserves a lot of text and makes it so it cannot be changed. This can be a bad thing though, as cute PDF format can distort text or pictures and that is key for us as a lot of documents include graphics and/or drawings.
