Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat

We use Adobe to secure Word documents and to convert .pdf documents back into Word for editing. We sometimes also use Adobe for direct editing but we like the ability to go back and forth between Adobe and Word depending on the situation. The other thing we use Adobe for is signatures. We can use digital signatures as opposed to printing and wet signing documents. This expedites the signature process for us.

Pros

  • Captures signatures
  • Converts to Office products like Word and Excel
  • Secures documents to prevent possible changes.

Cons

  • I would like to see Adobe automatically convert existing .pdf files to OCR ready.
  • I would like to see more features in Adobe Acrobat Reader since many of our staff do not have the full product.
  • The biggest ROI for us is with security and our ability to protect documents.
  • Next biggest ROI is our ability to take an old .pdf and convert it to Word for manipulation.
  • Ease of Use
  • Other
Ease of use is related to how the ability of all staff, regardless of level or technical expertise, to use the product. I don't think that there is anyone today who hasn't seen and used a .pdf document. That means there is almost no training needed except for those using the full version for more robust applications.
They are a critical part of why we use Adobe. There are some security features in Word, but we feel that the possibility of breaches and just simple modification by someone outside the organization is too great to chance it with important documents. So using Adobe gets us the level of security that makes us feel confident when we send something out, it will be seen as intended and not be available to anyone not intended.

Do you think Adobe Acrobat delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Acrobat's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Acrobat live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Adobe Acrobat go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Adobe Acrobat again?

Yes

When we create a document in HR like a termination letter, that is always done initially in Word to facilitate tracking of changes as it goes through the evaluation and approval process. But once it has been approved and ready to be given out, we always convert it to .pdf which allows us to both secure it, and acquire a signature if needed.
