Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat

I use Adobe Acrobat to review documents and provide feedback to my colleagues, redact private information, create fillable forms, create records, and for communications and marketing assets. I also use the signature feature to sign agreements and contracts. Adobe Acrobat allows me to collaborate with with my colleagues and share information knowing that my original documents will be preserved when sharing with other users.

Pros

  • redacting files
  • create fillable forms
  • allow for editing and providing comments
  • protects documents from unwanted edits

Cons

  • Pricing is high
  • Combining forms - need to flatten forms when combining, so the fields from various forms don’t get mixed up with one another
  • User confusion between Adobe Reader and Acrobat
  • Too expensive for my personal use - I only use it at work
  • Confusing when combining packages with files of different sizes. Some items display much larger than others depending on the file size. Makes us spend too much time adjusting file sizes.
  • The forms feature saves us lots of time for getting information and easily editing forms for various purposes.
  • Other
Adobe Acrobat seems to be the most popular program for creating documents and manipulating PDF files, so I stick with the program that is most compatible with other systems - both personal and at my work.
It’s important to be able to lock files to prevent changes, or to record signatures and ensure signature data (date/time) is preserved. This helps with record management and verification.
I’m a huge fan of the core Adobe products like Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. They are almost limitless in their potential to create and manage documents. Having access to multiple Adobe products enhances workflow, ability to create and manipulate files, and create professional level designs and documents. It’s the most professional software I've had experience using.

Yes

Did Adobe Acrobat live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Adobe Acrobat again?

Yes

It’s well suited for my job in government administration, allowing me to create and protect documents, edit as required, and collaborate with other users. Adobe Acrobat is well suited for redacting information for privacy, compiling several documents together to create information packages, and for getting signatures when needed.
