Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat DC

We use Adobe Acrobat DC to convert PowerPoints and documents to pdfs for posting on our website. Our postings need to be accessible and Adobe Acrobat DC makes this easy with the Accessibility Tool. Many of our packets begin as multiple documents (often a mix of Word docs, Excel spreadsheets, and pdfs) which need to be combined into a single pdf. Combining documents is available from the context menu in File Explorer or via a wizard in the app. This program is extremely mature, so it's incredibly feature-rich and well-implemented.
  • Creating accessible pdfs
  • Combining documents of multiple file types
  • Creating pdfs of a reduced file size
  • Editing pdf documents
  • The e-signature process could be more intuitive. We've had some problems with the signature flows.
  • The pdf protection can be defeated by using other programs not made by Adobe.
  • pdf portfolios aren't supported by all browsers.
  • Accessibility tool
  • E-signatures
  • Combining documents of different types into a single pdf
  • Adobe Acrobat DC allows us to produce accessible pdfs that includes a report of what was checked, what passed, what didn't pass, etc. This is huge for being able to either correct what was missed or demonstrate compliance.
  • The e-signature flows have reduced the time and effort required to gather signatures on documents, from weeks or days down to just a few minutes.
  • The ability to effortlessly create a single pdf from multiple documents and document types, without first converting those documents to the pdf format, is a huge time saver.
Most features and tools are mature and work intuitively. Adobe Acrobat DC has done a great job reducing the time and effort otherwise required for complex workflows. Many functions of Adobe Acrobat DC are available in the cloud, so work can be accomplished even if not at the PC where the app is installed, substantially increasing usability.
Being able to partner with a company that is as serious about security and compliance standards as Adobe is both a win for us and for our customers, who associate Adobe with quality. It gives us confidence the apps and services we use from Adobe are reasonably safe and will produce an output of high quality that adheres to standards allowing that content to be viewed without issue wherever it is published.
  • Foxit PDF Editor (FoxitPhantom)
Foxit PDF Editor is a fine product, but it is not as polished and feature-rich as Adobe Acrobat DC. Adobe Acrobat DC also has ties to the rest of Adobe Creative Cloud, which eases workflows that include other Adobe apps.

I've used several pdf creation apps and none come close to matching Adobe Acrobat DC's extensive features and polished tools. Even though it's not perfect, it has every feature I need and most do work very well. Creating and editing pdfs are absolutely flawless operations. While e-signatures don't always work flawlessly for us, at least that feature is there and works well most of the time. The integration with Adobe's Cloud means we are able to work with pdfs even when on a computer where Adobe Acrobat DC is not installed. We can also monitor the status of our e-signatures from the cloud, which is awesome. One of the tools I use most frequently is the Accessibility Tool, which makes creating pdfs that are Section 503-compliant a breeze.
