Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat DC

We use Adobe as our primary PDF reader for all of our applications due to its acceptance industry-wide. We also empower our end-users with the ability to build custom internal (and external) forms to improve our process and procedures and get the correct information the first time with an expected output. It's a very easy product to support and we also integrate it with our identity provider to increase visibility and usage of the product.
  • Custom forms
  • View PDFs offline or online
  • Auto-complete documents
  • Securing documents
  • Custom forms require a bit of training at first
  • Can be difficult for our end users to switch 'modes' (tools) in the application
  • There is a significant cost to include an external identity provider for authentication and compliance
  • Digital signature could use some work
  • Editing PDFs
  • Creating custom forms
  • Securing documents
  • Now that we can empower our users with Acrobat for form building the IT department can focus on more important tasks
  • Custom forms also allow us to cut back on the expected data vs received data, allowing quicker turn and communications
  • Using an external identity provider we can get more insight into how our staff are using the products and secure them efficiently
I still believe there is a gap with mobile functionality, but the gap is almost unnoticeable. Across Mac and Windows, the parity is there and Adobe does a good job of keeping both versions up to date and features across both platforms. Because the user experience is mostly the same across all devices, our end-users and customers are able to easily complete our forms.
We found that using Adobe's security and compliance was good, but ended up integrating it into our own cloud provider's solution for a single-pane of glass for our security team. It also allowed easier automated tasks and actions to be completed. For this reason, Adobe is a great selection allowing the tools to integrate into whichever product fits your company and needs.
  • Foxit PDF Editor (FoxitPhantom)
We found that Foxit, while still feature-rich, didn't have the same user acceptance as the familiar Adobe Acrobat. There were also some key features we were missing in Foxit that Adobe had. Overall it was a good experience with both products, it's just the needs of the business weren't met by Foxit.

Do you think Adobe Acrobat delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Acrobat's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Acrobat live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Adobe Acrobat go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Acrobat again?

Yes

Depending on your needs, you may be okay with just Adobe Reader (free). Acrobat allows for custom forms, organizing pages, creating PDFs, and the ability to edit PDFs, something that Reader cannot do. Other applications of the product like digital signatures is an easy addition, but we found didn't integrate with enough of our internal tools and we choose a different provider for that feature.
