Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Firefly

We usually use Adobe Firefly in moderation when creating audiovisual content and graphic design content. It helps a lot in terms of the lack of content in stock images (the same Adobe stock) and also as a source of inspiration for certain visual compositions. It is a tool that, although it implements the capabilities of a generative AI model, there is still work to be done for it to work optimally since it usually has errors in both perspectives and proportions.

Pros

  • Image composition generation
  • Generative fill for images
  • Execution speed
  • Intuitiveness of Prompts

Cons

  • Generation of "realistic" proportions
  • Integrations within the interfaces of both design software (Photoshop, Illustrator) and audiovisual editing software (Premiere Pro and especially After Effects)
  • Number of attempts within the same AI
  • Perspective and lighting failures (Photoshop)
  • Problems with the logic in the integration
  • Connection failures with Adobe (This may be due to our internet provider, but I don't know if it is a general problem with their connections to CC services)
  • It has improved the speed of content creation.
  • It helps a lot with the integration of creative ideas by having a source that tries to generate as close as possible to the desired result, thus achieving an optimal orientation towards the result that the client is looking for.
  • It comes integrated in the most recent versions (and betas) of certain programs in the Adobe CC package.
  • I don't know if there is a limit of credits to generate from the software separately, but within the aspect of use it is quite usable on a day-to-day basis.
  • You have to be careful how the content is generated because it tends not to be exact or "proportionate" to what is requested by the prompt.
While there are good aspects within the integration of Firefly within Adobe and in its general aspects as Generative AI, I feel that there is still a long way to go before it can optimally perform its work.
I don't know of other generative AI models integrated within other services. However, I have other generative AI references that, although they did not appear in the list generated by you, here I include one about some that I have used. Do you think Adobe Firefly delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Firefly's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Firefly live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Adobe Firefly go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Firefly again?

Yes

As I mentioned before, Adobe Firefly is a good AI generation tool, however it has both its pros and cons. If you are in a fast-paced scenario, streamlining your work and/or looking for momentary inspiration to get a project done is ideal; since it is integrated within the same Adobe suite (at least in Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro along with After Effects in beta) and usually saves you time in searches in browsers as well as in other services that, although they can help, are not fully integrated into the suite. However, as a downside, it must be clarified that since it is not perfect in content generation, you tend to waste some time trying to properly generate the prompt necessary for the optimal generation of the desired result. It is essential to clarify that it is also tiring that the prompt is not generated at all, causing you to fall behind in delivery times as well as in the quality of the material that was requested to be generated.

Using Adobe Firefly

3 - Design and conceptualization, branding, social media management, audiovisual editing and motion graphics animation
We still don't have anyone who can help us technically with this type of tools.
  • The execution of design tasks and their conceptualization and inspiration.
  • As a visual guide to understand the concepts that the client wants to carry out in their marketing strategies.
  • As a support to take into account certain basic aspects when putting together a design or visual base for a project, both internal and for clients.
  • For the development of marketing strategies
  • Creating text-based content
  • As a means of inspiration for the original creation of static and audiovisual designs
  • We don't have any specifics yet, but if possible in the future we would like it to generate audio speech for audiovisual projects.
  • For the development of large-scale media projects.
  • To speed up the process of developing videos for social networks.
Because while Adobe Firefly is a good tool (and comes integrated to a certain extent with your Adobe CC subscription) there is still a long way to go before it can have the support to be able to use it outside of the same program subscription.

Evaluating Adobe Firefly and Competitors

  • Integration with Other Systems
While there is no decisive factor in the acquisition of Adobe Firefly, the integration in services (PSD, Pr and Ae) is so far adequate although there is still a long way to go for AI to successfully perform its function.
I think that in addition to individually investigating the service, it is important to see how advanced the development and implementation of the service is.
