Adobe Firefly, Adobe's future in generative AI is just beginning
Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Firefly
We usually use Adobe Firefly in moderation when creating audiovisual content and graphic design content. It helps a lot in terms of the lack of content in stock images (the same Adobe stock) and also as a source of inspiration for certain visual compositions. It is a tool that, although it implements the capabilities of a generative AI model, there is still work to be done for it to work optimally since it usually has errors in both perspectives and proportions.
Pros
- Image composition generation
- Generative fill for images
- Execution speed
- Intuitiveness of Prompts
Cons
- Generation of "realistic" proportions
- Integrations within the interfaces of both design software (Photoshop, Illustrator) and audiovisual editing software (Premiere Pro and especially After Effects)
- Number of attempts within the same AI
- Perspective and lighting failures (Photoshop)
- Problems with the logic in the integration
- Connection failures with Adobe (This may be due to our internet provider, but I don't know if it is a general problem with their connections to CC services)
- It has improved the speed of content creation.
- It helps a lot with the integration of creative ideas by having a source that tries to generate as close as possible to the desired result, thus achieving an optimal orientation towards the result that the client is looking for.
- It comes integrated in the most recent versions (and betas) of certain programs in the Adobe CC package.
- I don't know if there is a limit of credits to generate from the software separately, but within the aspect of use it is quite usable on a day-to-day basis.
- You have to be careful how the content is generated because it tends not to be exact or "proportionate" to what is requested by the prompt.
I don't know of other generative AI models integrated within other services. However, I have other generative AI references that, although they did not appear in the list generated by you, here I include one about some that I have used. Using Adobe Firefly
3 - Design and conceptualization, branding, social media management, audiovisual editing and motion graphics animation
We still don't have anyone who can help us technically with this type of tools.
- The execution of design tasks and their conceptualization and inspiration.
- As a visual guide to understand the concepts that the client wants to carry out in their marketing strategies.
- As a support to take into account certain basic aspects when putting together a design or visual base for a project, both internal and for clients.
- For the development of marketing strategies
- Creating text-based content
- As a means of inspiration for the original creation of static and audiovisual designs
- We don't have any specifics yet, but if possible in the future we would like it to generate audio speech for audiovisual projects.
- For the development of large-scale media projects.
- To speed up the process of developing videos for social networks.
Evaluating Adobe Firefly and Competitors
Not Sure
- Integration with Other Systems
While there is no decisive factor in the acquisition of Adobe Firefly, the integration in services (PSD, Pr and Ae) is so far adequate although there is still a long way to go for AI to successfully perform its function.
I think that in addition to individually investigating the service, it is important to see how advanced the development and implementation of the service is.
