Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Firefly

We use Firefly to ideate concepts and retouch images.

Pros

  • Concept ideation at scale.
  • Simplifying complex retouching.
  • Offers a variety of models to choose from.

Cons

  • Model failures persist with no resolution.
  • Generated result resolution varies depending on model.
  • Service is unavailable for long periods.
  • Positive - Allows for ideation at scale.
  • Negative - Time/efforts wasted with generation failures.
  • Positive - Ability to review generation history.
  • Negative - Geo-blocking in Illinois and Texas has impeded adoption for some video options.
When the models work, they excel. However, recently the Google Gemini models have experienced a systemic failure in rendering, and Firefly Model 3 and older were terrible for generating/editing humans. Overall, this is what we expect from an AI model in general. Firefly Boards is a bright spot, allowing a lot of options from one source instead of jumping to various sites to solve.
For image editing/creation, Adobe Firefly is a close second to Google Gemini. We use Gemini 2.5/3 Pro exclusively via the Firefly services and Adobe programs. As for analytics, we use other services for conversational AI assistants.

Do you think Adobe Firefly delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Firefly's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Firefly live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Adobe Firefly go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Firefly again?

Yes

Firefly is getting better with the addition of third-party models. Where Firefly was failing, specifically in people generation, the new models are excelling. There are still issues with model failures, and when that happens, the model is useless. The advent of video generation is a new option that allows us to animate storyboards or concepts without a large onboarding process.
