Overall Satisfaction with Algolia
Algolia is quick to set-up. Works great for small ecommerce companies. However their support is bad, we had 1 day of outage that impacted our sales. There is no regular support team that will help us how Algolia works and if we are getting the best out of the Algolia. Rest all is fine, it just works.
- Search reranking based on product performance.
- Synonyms or rewrite to improve search like creams and body lotions
- Allowing manual overwrite in search if required.
- A kam to help when needed or for regular improvement
- Technical setup is complex with cache update every hour. Some oos product don't go oos in search.
- Ability to export data on dashboard
- About 30% of our customers use search to find products.
- We aren't sure about customers who searched and couldn't purchase. Did we show wrong results?
- Instead of vanilla search experience, a personalized search will be better based on customer browsing history
- Google Search Appliance (discontinued)
Algolia has focused solely on site search for 10+ years, while Google has previously abandoned similar products. Algolia offers end-to-end AI processing, personalization, and automatic query categorization at scale. Deployment and usability is easier with Algolia compared to Google Retail Discovery AI. Algolia also offers a free merchandising studio for non-tech
