Overall Satisfaction with Appian

There are some people in the Appian community who who can provide good support, but better support should be available. All the documents should have more examples. Don't just try to make short videos. Try to make videos which are easy for people to understand. It depends a lot on the person's voice in training videos. Please make them better.
Appian is used across the whole organization now. It is a very good workflow tool and addresses many business requirements of our organization. There are so many requirements that needs to follow a workflow, and Appian is one of the best solutions for this.
  • Appian has an easy-to-use interface when it comes to designing process models.
  • Appian helps speed up the development process as most of the components are easily available on clicks.
  • Appian is continuously getting better and better with new versions coming out, which is great to see.
  • First of all there should be more community support to answer the developer questions.
  • There should be proper syntax and examples for all the functions available on Appian's website. I see only syntax and no examples. Examples really help in understanding the concepts.
  • After 17.2 now we can use ForEach() loop in Appian. Appian should provide more powerful functions like this which are easily available in other programming languages. Also, the way of writing SAIL is weird. Why can't it's language be more similar to other OOP languages ?
  • Appian is agood workflow tool and solves many problems, but for us the main challenge is to train people. So, there should be more support from Appian's side to make learning easy.
  • Appian study videos also should have more examples. I do not see any examples, they just talk about the theory. Now I am seeing some of the newer videos which are better.
  • Appian should work on training videos more, and should provide more support to the community.
Appian has more functionality and features which I can use but it is difficult to achieve same in QuickBase. Again it depends on the requirement we have but Appian is surely the future because i can see its evolution.
As I mentioned earlier Appian is good when it comes to workflow application but learning Appian itself takes more time. If coding standards or way to writing codes can be made similar to other OOP languages such as Java, C# etc. then it will really save time for persons coming from programming background.
