Overall Satisfaction with Articulate 360

Currently, I use Articulate 360, Storyline and Rise to create learning modules for continuing education and returning to the workforce training for teachers. By either importing an already created PowerPoint training or starting from scratch, I make use of the variables and triggers to guide the learner experience. I also make use of the timeline to create animations, add in audio and use the AI features to refine the overall training experience. These two products create a learning experience that is generally seamless and easy to use, however, it is not without it's faults and sometimes requires reading up on forums such as elearning heroes to find solutions (mostly with variable and trigger issues).

Pros

  • Seamless animation
  • Closed captioning
  • Easy integration of already prepared PowerPoint materials

Cons

  • Sometimes Storyline does not respond as expected when using complicated variables
  • It would be nice to have the closed captioning process be a little simpler when adding in your own audio
  • Allows for tracking how many people have completed the training
I like that with Review you can request due dates, and have different reviewers comment. I also like that you can resolve comments as you go. I like that both Rise and Storyline integrate well with our LMS docebo. There is a learning curve to all three of these apps, but when used together, out team is able to collaborate seamlessly.
I do like that you can use AI assistant to create content, refine content, and provide multiple ways to experience content. Having the ability to develop text, images, and audio in once place, while staying within branding concepts is very helpful. The AI Assistant is a good jumping off point for starting a new training and defining not only the look and feel but also the overall experience.
Most of the Articulate 360 apps have a learning curve that may take users a while to get started to fully learn the program. Again, I've detailed this before but learning the usability and functionality of triggers and variables can be one of the most challenging parts even for a seasoned user. This is the one frustration point that I found, however, there are forums such as eLearning heroes that are helpful to find solutions from other users.

Do you think Articulate 360 delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Articulate 360's feature set?

Yes

Did Articulate 360 live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Articulate 360 go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Articulate 360 again?

Yes

Rise seems well suited to rapid training development where it is easy to create a block and swap it out if it does not work for you. For simple trainings where you are trying to transition from in person to online this could be done quickly. For longer, more in depth modules where you would like to test knowledge and have results provided, it would be good to use Storyline.
