Overall Satisfaction with Articulate 360

We use Articulate 360 to develop and publish eLearning courses for employee development. We are providing technical training that also doubles as continuing education credits for the employee's professional credentials. The scope of our use case is for all employees at the supervisory level and above as a service of the talent development department.

Pros

  • Enables rapid development of training content
  • Enables stakeholders to easily review and comment on prototypes
  • Provides a variety of structured and open-ended tools for IDs to create engaging content for adult learners

Cons

  • I'd like to see all of the interaction types from the Engage part of Articulate Studio be integrated into Rise 360
  • I'd like the blocks offered in Rise 360 to be more customizable, especially the interactive ones, in terms of font size, color choices, use of images and video
  • Enable Rise to work more seamlessly with Camtasia video outputs when it comes to closed captioning. Either Rise could accept .srt files and not just .vtt files, or perhaps it could accept videos published with Camtasia's smart player
  • I'd like the Storyline block type to be more customizable in how it displays in Rise - there is usually too much white space at the top and bottom, even if you change the block padding to 0 at the top and bottom
  • I think that Articulate 360 has decreased training costs and made training more accessible as the company grows in number and locations by enabling us to convert many in-person trainings to eLearnings.
  • I also think that it has enabled us to capture and document more knowledge from SMEs in the form of detailed eLearning courseware that can be more easily refined and updated than PowerPoints that only have a few bullet points.
I love the flexibility of using Rise with Storyline blocks because it allows for open-ended creative possibilities to facilitate learning to meet organizational objectives. Review makes the review process more or less seamless, and provides us with the ability to make real-time updates and communications with our stakeholders both inside and outside the company (for example, contractors or external clients). It’s such a great product because each element works seamlessly together.
I haven’t yet worked with AI Assistant, other than to generate a stock image for a Rise course as a test, and it worked out well. I look forward to exploring more of what it has to offer in the area of writing and overall design support.
Articulate 360 is so intuitive and user-friendly; and whenever it isn’t, the product support and the user community will have more than you need to keep you going - keep you inspired!
Compared to other products I’ve used such as Adobe Captivate, uPerform, Articulate Studio and more, Articulate 360 strikes the best balance between pre-built (yet customizable) interactions as well as having open-ended development capabilities, all in a very user-friendly package. Another huge benefit I think is the Review 360 product. It’s really solved the challenge of how to share content for SME reviews and more when it comes to eLearning development.

Do you think Articulate 360 delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Articulate 360's feature set?

Yes

Did Articulate 360 live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Articulate 360 go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Articulate 360 again?

Yes

Articulate 360 is well-suited to rapid development of training content. It can be used for any type of content, from compliance training to simulations or technical training, particularly because of Storyline, which can integrate into Rise to make it a very open-ended development tool. I really don't see too many scenarios where it is less appropriate. The only exception to using Articulate 360 is when you absolutely must have an in-person training or assessment. For example, an in-person training is much more effective for content that requires role-playing or hands-on practice for learning. Even then, you can always enhance that kind of training by "flipping the classroom" and creating self-directed learning pre-work for learners to take online in advance of the in-person session.
