Overall Satisfaction with Ascentis HR

Support team is very helpful. However, they understand the limitations of the system-- so many times they are helping to find a work around. Many times I hear "we will add this to the list for our engineers to consider for the next update." They make due with the situation that we are in.
Ascentis is our full suite HRIS system. Specific to the Ascentis HR, this is being used by HR specifically. We have other services such as TimeKeeper and ESS that is used across the whole organization.

The business problem it addresses is being able to electronic records for all of our employees. Ability to pull reports and have accessibility to data as needed.

  • Integration: a lot of manual updates
  • Not an intuitive system for users
  • Limitations-- a lot of customizations
  • Reporting could be more robust
  • Negative: More manual entry and work arounds
  • Negative: Always have to audit to make sure all information is accurate
  • Negative: reporting is not intuitive and reports took a good amount of time to master
  • Negative: many calls to customer support line to work through items since it is not intuitive and system has MANY limitations. Not designed with HR in mind.
Decision to move forward with this product was made prior to my starting with the company. All other systems listed above have been better than Ascentis. Ascentis would be perfect for a small start up company that is just building. For established companies exceeding 200 employees, this is not the right product.
Support has been fine. The product is just not as robust as what the company needs. It's nice that there are plug-ins to create a seamless one system feel. However, there are many limitations to each of the products and plug in. Performance is one of the worst sections, but the alternative of adding another system or going manual is not an option for us.
Small companies that do not need a robust system. Company that prefers customization vs. plug and play for needs. Manual entry as some things do not flow from the ESS, or Payroll to the system. The flow from one system to the next can be confusing for the users. All aides are videos with very minimal documentation that users can reference.
