Overall Satisfaction with Authorize.Net
So I was actually recommended to use this by a client! I was building a website for a local client, and normally use a WooCommerce and Stripe for my payment platform and processing, rather than Authorize.net. However, my client already had a payment processing company that handled their on-site retail sales, and that provider asked me to use Authorize.net to allow everything to run together smoothly, rather than having 2 separate payment companies. While my experience with Stripe is only via e-commerce gateways, I was impressed at how smoothly the implementation happened with Authorize.net - and my client has seemed very happy with everything working on one provider.
- Smooth implementation
- Good customer support (as per my client)
- Ease of use for customers
- Unfamiliarity as a contractor; although this was my first and only time implementing it, so it could just be that I'm not used to it
- Fees
- Universality; from what I've seen, services like Stripe and PayPal are compatible with more platforms.
- Ease of use for a non-tech savvy client
- Good human customer support
- Ease of installation for a developer
- Happier client, as he is the one who interfaces with Authorize.net - I had some difficulty interfacing with it but it was also my only time on that specific platform
- Fees are a little high... but my client has a personal customer support person so I think that makes up for the higher fees
- Smooth operation between retail and e-commerce
- Stripe
I selected Authorize.net for online card processing as my client was strongly recommending it. On the recommendation from their on-site payment provider. This also means that he has the same customer service rep to call for online and for retail. It seems pretty similar to competitors in my eyes (which is a good thing! I use Stripe and absolutely love it) so Authorize.net seemed like a great choice as well
