Automox delivers!
Overall Satisfaction with Automox
95% of our use of Automox is for Windows Update(s) distribution, and installation. We also use Automox as a backup form to remotely access our workstation environment. In addition, we can monitor our Microsoft Update deployment from one single location. We look forward to using Automox for other 3rd party software deployment, as the Windows Update deployment has been great so far!
Pros
- 3rd party software deployment
- Single location for software management
- Basic workstation remote access
Cons
- I would like to see a little more functionality with the remote access module. It is great to utilize it when there in an issue(s), that needs to be addressed. Being able to access these nodes from one single point of access, is very helpful.
- Some MS updates show up as not being installed on workstations, but when checking the workstation, they are installed.
- Some lag time is present at times (we run a 10 GB network).
- The time saving factor is a huge point for us. Our workstations are spread out across several offices and the time it would us to physically go to each workstation would take up a large amount of our time for day to day operations.
- Nothing negative at this time. Some improvements need to be made, but they will come.
We were having issues with MS updates not being installed onto all of the endpoints. After using Automox, it seems that our workstations are 99% patch, as opposed to about 45% previous to using Automox. Thanks Automox!
