Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Within our organization we use Automox to manage our entire inventory of users and assets. By using this I can manage users and their assets by pushing crticically needed updates or maybe I need to push a policy that is needed as soon as possible I can do so remotely using this service. Very quick and handy for anyone in the IT field.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Shows applications installed on a specific asset
Able to push policies and updates remotely , creating policies is easy.
Keep track of compliant devices and when is the last time they have connected to the servers
All the great information provided within one single device

Cons

Sometimes applications arent as accurate as we would like.
Sometimes not accurate showing when a computer is online
Sometimes not as accurate on searching a computer name if it hasnt synced and will have to search via Asset tag

Return on Investment

Really improved time spent away from RDP
Efficiency on a product move and shortened the deadline
Cost effective, as if we didnt finish our project in time we would have had to pay for the old VPN for another month or 2.

Patching

After moving into Automox we have noticed a huge difference in the time and effort pushed towards weekly patches and management of assets to keep data on all of these assets. More time equals time to give back to our users or projects. Either with being able to do other tickets or focus more time into our upcoming projects.

Usability

Very self explanatory and didn't take long to be shown and taught all the different areas of Automox. Then was even easier depending on what your company may use it for. There may be some things that could be better which is why I cant give it a 10.But very very close.

Alternatives Considered

SuperOps.ai, LogicMonitor and ManageEngine AD360

I have used all of these in my 6+ years of being within the IT world and Automox is what we are using now at my current position. Beyond the best one I have used based off the fact of easy to use and data given within the Automox app.

Likelihood to Recommend

As a company we decided to move to another VPN, with doing so we had to push all computers 3 different policies and an update. With Automox we were able to for the most part (when users actually had connected to the server) push all of these policies to each of the computers we needed without remoting into their computers. Saved a ton of time.
