Overall Satisfaction with Avalara
Avalara has become a saver of my time with tracking and filing sales and use tax, and managing exemption certificates. Having a large portion of customers exempt from tax, we needed the best way to not only track and manage our certificates, but also a way to reach out to our customers to collect their certificates. The CertCapture gives us a clear view of our certificates on file, and even when exposure is coming up with expiring certificates. The AvaTax side allows us to quickly reconcile and file our taxes on a timely basis. It also allows us to track exposure zones to make better decisions on when we need to start filing and remitting tax in a State or Jurisdiction.

All integrations were set up before I become involved with Avalara, with the exception of Salesforce. We started the integration process between Salesforce and Avalara to start putting tax on quotes, but ran into issues on the Salesforce side and with address verification.
Beyond the sales tax calculation, we also use the returns filing and the exemption certificate management. The certificate manager has been a big help with our resellers, non-profits, and educational customers. It gives us a clear view of exposure zones and helps track when certificates are set to expire, so that we can reach out to our customers for updated documents. The returns filings have been simple to set up and utilize. It saves me a lot of time each month where I can focus on some of the specialty taxes and other tasks instead of taking days out of the month to file each return myself.
