Overall Satisfaction with BambooHR®

We use BambooHR as our HRIS and for payroll processing. It is used for tracking time and attendance and PTO. We use it for approval of pay increases, employee document storage, employee communication and payroll processing.

  • not refreshing and going to top of screen in benefit management when entering benefit costs
It is easy to use and has comparable capabilities. Like all systems there are things that it does well and areas that it is lacking. Unfortunately, there is not a perfect HRIS system because they all give up something to be good at something else. For BambooHR, I would say payroll and benefits suffer for the better employee experience and HR side of the system.
Support is adequate. Not fast when you send an email. Luckily I do not have to utilize it too often. They also seem to take off and have a lot of employee development days.
It allows us to run reports for HR and payroll data fairly easily. There could be some improvement in this area.
I did not select BambooHR, it was already in use and it works well for the size of the company so there is no reason to change it. Paylocity has better payroll functionality but is lacking on the HRIS side, so BambooHR and Paylocity are somewhat comparable. In my opinion, avoid Rippling at all costs, it is terrible!

The employee interface is nice and easy to use. Reporting capabilities are adequate. Time tracking and PTO tracking is good. Document setup, features and storage are good. Payroll still needs some work. If you don't use the BambooHR benefit platform, it is cumbersome and time consuming to enter and update employee benefits for payroll purposes.
