Overall Satisfaction with BambooHR®

As an analyst of a Benefits Broker, BambooHR is an HRIS platform that many of our clients use. We integrate this vendor on the Broker/Employer side for Benefits Administration to assist our clients with employee management, onboarding/open enrollments, and reporting needs.

Pros

  • user-friendly interface
  • ESS (Employee Self-Service) model is intuitive and easy to navigate
  • Simple design suitable for small to mid side businesses

Cons

  • Reporting functionality and features are lacking and not very customizable.
  • Limited integration for other external venders that would help streamline processes.
  • Poor customer support.
  • Instead of reducing manual work which the platform sells itself on, the model has shifted it. The newer and "more efficient" feature set has been replaced by the new, equally inefficient tasks of "additional outreach and support".
  • Many occasions of disrupted workflows and decreased automation.
  • Team members constantly have to stop their primary work to perform this "additional outreach".
This is one thing it excels on. It has a very simple and sleek look for employees to Navigate the system. In turn, from a Broker/Employer side it is not intuitive and too simple to analyze important information.
Not helpful in my experience. Not prompt and uses for AI prompted support then actual account management needed to help navigate a system that appears to be missing many necessary HRIS features.
While the model was implemented with the objective of increasing productivity and efficiency, our experience has shown a net negative impact on our operational capacity. Unanticipated time required for additional outreach and navigating support channels has surpassed any time savings from the core features, leading to a decrease more often than increase to our team's overall productivity.
In my experience, I prefer overall reporting and functionality of Rippling, Gusto, and Ease.
It is on par with Employee Navigator and Paycom (due to more user friendly design)
Prefer to Worklio, Paylocity, and ADP Workforce.

It has a very user friendly interface with an intuitive and sleek look for employees, but managing them is another story. The platform over compensates with a friendly interface for lack of features for external management, functionality, and important reporting needs.
