Overall Satisfaction with Barracuda Backup

Our organization uses barracuda Backup as the primary backup and recovery solution for our VMware environment. We wanted a simple appliance that had cloud replication capabilities to automate and streamline our backups across multiple platforms. Barracuda Backup hit the sweet spot for all of our needs, including cost, features, and ease of administration.

Barracuda Backup compared very favorably to Veeam Backup & Replication because it has all of the most necessary features you would expect in a backup solution, but can be deployed much faster and is easier to manage. The Linux based appliance reduces the need for using a "server to back up our servers." The licensing was straightforward, and the cloud replication with unlimited storage was an easy add on that "just works."
Barracuda Backup has world-class support. The cost is affordable and, although we rarely had to use it, it was easy to get a skilled engineer on the phone when we needed one. The support center was based in the United States, which eliminated communication barriers and helped us quickly solve problems when necessary -- without having to jump through a lot of hoops. The support also includes an instant replacement guarantee for the appliance and, if you maintain coverage for four years, you can get a free upgrade to the latest appliance. This is a supreme value.

Barracuda Backup is particularly well suited for small to mid-sized environments where cost-effective and straightforward backup and DR solutions are needed. It's especially great in smaller environments where small IT departments don't have time or resources to dedicate to managing a backup and DR solution. The simplicity and reliability of Barracuda Backup reduce the administrative overhead in these environments.
