Overall Satisfaction with BigCommerce
BigCommerce hosts e-commerce for my website, venttabs.com. It also serves as the diagnostic tool and provides metrics on web sales/customer service performance. It also provides a blog vehicle and a link to social media services. BC provides technical assistance on an as-needed basis, including technical performance issues, some SEO advice but, limited.
- Presentation of the website and brand
- Easy to read metrics/analytics
- Easy to change product pages
- Easy to change pricing changes
- Page load speed issues , costing my business huge decrease in conversion rates Q4-19.
- Very inconsistent technical service at level 1 , sometimes expert sometimes just reading me web site answers in FAQ style.
- Very difficult to manage templates.
- Most small changes require html developer which adds significant costs.
- Unaware of ability to downgrade service after severe fall off in volume, increased cost $170/month since early 2019.
- Poor load speeds drastically reduced conversion rates last 90 days.
- Inconsistent cart to check out cause big spike in abandonments last 90 days.
- High cost of pro plan increased costs and lowered profits significantly in 2019.
$100,000 to $500,000
We are not using custom APIs.
I did not select BC, it was part of the channel strategy already in place when I purchased the company. I have evaluated it against shopify and woo commerce, and frankly, it seems older, slower and has many customer complaints on the various forums. Less and less developers want to work on it too.
