Raiser's Edge NXT Has Some Good Features But May Not Be the Best Fit for All Organizations.
Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT
We use Blackbaud Raiser's Edge as our donor database at my organization. I use both the database view of Raiser's Edge, as well as the web view of NXT. They serve different purposes for me. I prefer the database view for recording gifts, updating constituent information, and creating queries. NXT has served me well for creating reports and quick access to constituent records.
Pros
- It's easy to create reports that are visually appealing.
- It is easy to access on any device.
Cons
- I don't love the way constituent records look on NXT; I find the database view much easier to digest. The records in NXT are too spread out visually, and although they provide the same information, it doesn't feel as easy to understand as the database view.
- There are a lot of functions I simply do not use on NXT and it clogs up the interface.
- Report creation.
- I don't have any concrete numbers to share unfortunately.
I like the ease with which you can identify duplicates in RE NXT. This helps in database maintenance, which can help you save money AND raise more money in the long run - good data is KEY. As I have mentioned, I also think the reports you can create in NXT can help share data with your development committee or board clearly and concisely. Looking at these numbers can help in budgeting and strategic fundraising plans.
