Overall Satisfaction with Bloomerang
We use Bloomerang to manage our database of donor champions. It helps us manage these relationships, keep donor information stored safely, and communicate with our constituents. It's currently just being used by members of our staff who interact with donors and/or cash flow, namely our ED and Finance Director, as well as myself.
- Donor retention - I love the homepage "dashboard" that gives a snapshot of campaign progress, donor rentention percentage, and upcoming tasks.
- Interface - Bloomerang is the most easy-to-use donor software I've ever used. It's extremely intuitive and seems to be designed for the user, not the programmer.
- Reports - The prefilled report templates offer a great starting point for data mining, but it's also very easy to customize what you need.
- Managining individuals versus households is a bit cumbersome. Ideally all individuals would be part of households, to track individual phone numbers, email addresses, and interactions, but for some reason it's not as intuitive to do this. They're not automatically linked together, so a user has to go back in to add relationships and add members to households, even to spouses.
- Address, phone, and email updates only allow for the most current information to be entered. This occasionally allows for confusion, because you're not able to note which information bounced back or the date it was specifically changed.
- My organization has used Bloomerang since before my start date and has definitely seen increases in income with more organized information on Bloomerang. Since my start date it has been easy to track our 20% increase in donor retention.
Bloomerang is extremely user-friendly. My first day using it - without any training - I was able to create new records, add donations, and add interactions. In previous positions we had whole teams of people who were hired to perform these tasks so it's a real breath of fresh air to be able to perform this myself in our small non-profit.
